What are your thoughts when comparing the Porsche Macan to MME?

Could you see yourself upgrading to Porsche?

I would say from a charging density standpoint the MME wins thanks to getting access to the Tesla network. Hopefully you have your NACS to CCS adapter in hand for your summer road trips.

Probably no, same reason I wouldn’t buy a Corvette, the cost number one, and number two just as much fun in the Mustang as the Corvette. I’m talking Shelby Mustang type car over a Corvette. I know the Shelby can get expensive but I’m talking about something probably not brand new then again I don’t care for Corvette anyways.

Besides the colour, it does look nice. However, that "Porsche tax", that would probably leave it out of my price range.

A friend of mine has a Taycan (EV), and just had a full health check/service, cost was $1,800. A bit much for me...

The Macan looks like a sweet ride. The hard part is it's more than I am willing to pay. The fast model with a good set of options is $125/130K

It’s the first car since getting my Mach E that has piqued my interest.

But they are asking a freakin ton of money for a compact SUV.

If it were priced like the gas Macan (60k base, 86k GTS) I would be more tempted.

Not sure why the EV Macan got so expensive. The Panamera and Taycan are almost identical in price. But the Macan EV is about $20k more than the ICE.

And that’s a lot considering it’s the smallest and lowest priced vehicle in the Porsche lineup.

Built one for fun and it’s $118k plus tax and delivery for the one I would want.

It’s definitely a lot of money. But calling it a Q4 is a bit like calling the 911 an expensive Audi TT.

Q4 maxes out at 335 hp for one.

Sorry - I meant the look. I totally get it’s a Porsche, but there is not enough of a visual distinction between it and the Q4 Fastback for me.

I think the Mach-E has a better rear profile. The design "trick" of making the headroom/spoiler "bump" in the Mach-E black gives it a more sporty edge without making it feel "bubbly".

I think the face views on both are fine. I like the Macan's headlamps but I think the Mach-E nose shape is better.

It has a much crisper design in front and also perfect wheel gap to wheel design. Looks tight and very premium.

I also like they just did the rear rake straightforward instead of the fake-out black bulge thing on top of rake line like Ford.

I fell for the Mach-e when it was first announced, hadn’t been really enthusiastic about any car for years. Took me a bit but bought a 2022 Premium that I *loved*.

When the Macan was announced, I again felt super excited, it peaked when I saw it in person at the NY Auto Show.

Order is placed, it’s supposed to arrive in October. Cannot wait!

In the meantime, driving a Ioniq 5 AWD. While it accelerates faster than my former MME, the Mach-e handled significantly better and I had way more fun driving it.

The Macan should reign over both MME and Ioniq 5 in these regards.
