I've heard some stories myself, and they applied to the lithium battery demand for everything across the board that uses lithium based battery power.
Definitely a disturbing and inconvenient truth?

More evidence that it's never as simple as choosing what's all good or all bad.

Usually the fossil drivers complain that there's:
1. Queues at the charger or
2. There's no queue's at the chargers so there's no demand.

This was from one person.

Well which one do you want to see? They had no answer
Well, in the UK, I never now experience queues at the charger not because there’s no demand but the infrastructure, I think, is ahead of demand as it should be for a growing thing like EV take up.

ICE age man still (mis)informs me as if it’s a matter of fact ā€œthe infrastructure’s just not thereā€.

I happen to think there’s never been a better time to go EV.

Only hope increase in infrastructure supply keeps going.

I used to be all for EVs but then I did research on them now I'm dead set against them. Just the human and ecological toll it takes just to get the materials to make the batteries should turn everyone one away from them. But I guess as long as it happens in a foreign country far away it ok.
Never heard anybody use the same argument for not buying a mobile ā€˜phone, probably because it’s inconvenient to them and so those that want one blind themselves to that argument.

The technology is changing so the sourcing of materials change, it’s progress, just like our industrial revolutions were and look how ecologically and humanely harmful they were.

I find if somebody has any kind of prejudice there’s always justification, in their mind, for an argument that suits, it comes down to who they’re trying to convince.

Individually, we won’t make much of a difference, each to their own, enjoy your own?

With home solar installed getting an EV was a no brainer. It’s hilarious to hear some knuckle dragger tell me Solar won’t work cause it’s too cloudy/cold in Michigan. I let my wallet do the talking and tell them how much my energy and gas bills dropped. I realize as most of you do too that the tired, misleading propaganda against EV’s in the media comes from sources that desperately need to protect their ICE and fossil fuel investments. Reminiscent of the tobacco and opioid industries shenanigans. Still, I fully admit EV’s aren’t suitable for many and stay away from giving sermons to those that confront me with their ā€œfactsā€. Meanwhile, I’ve upgraded my wine choices considerably with the money I’ve saved from the gas pump!

Sick in the head includes the ice mustang owners who are extremists against ev mustang. I've seen the posts about these jerkstores rudely engaging with ev mustang owners but hoped it was few and far between. But just in my short ownership the other day I was driving with kids in my car, merging onto a busy expressway. A jackass mustang ice owner was up my ass and waving frantically. I was waiting less than 5 seconds for my lane opening. In the rearview I could almost see the familiar mouthed words of "it's not a mustang" and this guy looked unhinged. Then he needlessly throttles the motor aggressively, goes around me, makes several illegal lane changes, way over the speed limit, and nearly causes an accident. People suck. And I agree with the earlier poster, if ev is not your bag, don't buy one. But spreading toxicity helps no one. There are so many other things to give AF about.

Since 2013, I have owned 3 BEVs, 2 PEHVs, and 1 hybrid. And lots of ICE vehicles. They all have their place. The EVs are our daily drivers (and our fun cars). We use our PEHV for trips, towing, and hauling stuff. The EVs, and their infrastructure, just aren't up to those tasks, yet. It's not one or the other - pick the vehicle that can best perform the task. The world is not black and white. Right now, if I could only have one vehicle, it would have a gas engine.

Don’t rely on the ideology of a gasser aka Petro heads. They don’t know what it feels to not pump $100 into their tank every week and you won’t convince them that they don’t need to go 400 miles every day Autoparts & Big O are convincing them. They need lifetime parts ie alternator, starter water, pumps, hoses clamps they was born that way.
I’m not denying that some people maliciously target chargers. To be fair, though, lots of the gas pumps I visit have some sort of vandalization, too.
I don't mind a resistance to change, it's a learning curve and many people don't have the patience or fortitude to experience a new technology in it's early stages. Personally, the pros far outweigh the cons, my Mach e GT is the best and most enjoyable car I've ever owned. What I don't like is conspiracy theory followers of any kind and unfortunately this has now permiated the EV dialog and has taken on a political bent. This is just plain ridiculous, let the technology live or die on it's own merits. Educate yourself on the facts before you espouse BS conspiracies! I'm not suggesting which political influence relies heavily on baseless conspiracies, if the shoe fits wear it. Maybe it's good in one way, these idiots won't be taking up space at charging stations, but maybe they will vandalize them. Open your minds not conspiracy web sites!

I expected to get trashed by all the EV people who blindly go their marry way believing these vehicles are saving the environment. If you want an EV that's fine but don't feel like your doing anything more than not buying gasoline that just shows you refuse to do the research.

For those who are anti-EV, you must also be anti-smartphone and almost every thing else electronic. The materials needed comes from the same place, they’re not just for electric cars as the fakebook news stories go!
Another FYI for the haters, ICE vehicles have been polluting the planet for over a hundred years. It will take EV’s longer than that to catch up, since almost 100% is recyclable now.

After 3 years of ownership, I've heard them all. With the range issue, my reply is "If you are the type of traveler that pulls into the gas station, places the nozzle into the tank, runs into the convenience store to buy something to eat, comes out to replace the nozzle and eats while you drive, do not own an EV. Part of owning an EV is mapping your route with charging stops with relaxed eating or shopping while your EV charges. That's why some chargers are located near Walmart and food places.

I heard a new one the other day. Statistics revealed 95% of EVs are still on the road. The other 5% made it home.

Full disclosure, I own both ICE and EV vehicles. At least for the near future, I don't see myself exclusively owning EVs. I prefer ICE vehicles for towing and for longer trips.

As with most things in life, I tend to fall somewhere in the gray area. For me, life is all about balance and seeing every angle and appreciating every viewpoint. It's also about experiencing new things. Live and let live, do what's right for you and don't impose on others. That sort of thing.

There will always be "extremests", but I find that most people are open minded enough to, at least, see and understand a different viewpoints. I know EVs aren't for everyone and I understand the reasons why.

Btw, most of my family, friends and coworkers are staunch Republicans and die-hard "gassers". Some of them a little more hardcore than others. Because of that, I'll admit that I did have a slight bit of apprehension when I was looking to purchase my first EV. I don't typically make decisions based on what other may think of me, but I did consider that I may have to deal with some blowback. As predicted, some rolled their eyes when they found out others have told me I made a mistake, but most seem to be genuinely curious about the the potential of EVs, even if they say they'll likely never buy one.

I had to smile the other day when I left my local grocery store. Parked next to me, way out in noman's land (I like to try and avoid door dings), was a new(er) model ICE Mustang. See, not all "gassers" are ignorant jerks. ?

Most of my vehicles are ICE. They all have a purpose. For instance, were I to be dragging a bunch of decoys and my waders with my dog and me, I would choose the Blazer. Expediency of interior volume. If I want to have an insane amount automotive entertainment, the T/A is the ticket. Expediency of performance. My daily driver is the MME. Expediency of convenience and comfort. ?ā€ā™‚?

Ranting that people who drive ICE are ā€œsick in the headā€ is nothing but an ad hominem.??
I have one of each and I like them both. Don’t exactly understand the point here, freedom

I know my place in the world as an idiot ?

It’s a beautiful place to be, to be sure.

And half a bottle of Scotch down on a Sunday afternoon I really couldn’t give a flying fig, have a nice day yourself, RickyMachE ?????
