So this is the second time this has happened. I posted about the first time about 3 months ago, it hasn't happened again until today. Same scenario; speed sign recognition off, local road without any speed changes which I drive it at least twice a day, sometimes more without issue.

Today I was driving along, cruise control on, there was nobody in front of me, but I did have a guy behind me. Suddenly for no reason the MME hard brakes. I caught it almost immediately and hit the 'gas', but the guy behind me apparently thought I was brake checking him and was rightfully upset. He switched lanes and came up to me, honking and flipping me off before speeding off. All I could think was "Sorry dude, I had no control over that."

It's so intermittent I don't see the logic in taking it to service yet, but it is concerning. Would hate to have to stop using cruise control.

Anyway, has this happened to anyone else?

Happens from time to time here too. Sun too low? - Time for brakes! Heavy rain? Get out of here, brakes! Entering or exit tunnel? Get f*cked, I’m slamming the brakes! Bonus for when there are two lanes in same direction in a turn or minor elevation changes and there is a car in the other lane; bbbrrraaaake!

All examples with normal ACC and no Bluecruise. The last example happens in very minor turns and elevation changes, meaning I mostly can only use ACC safely on straight roads or highest level of highway (we have two types of highway where the highest has very long turns and elevation changes).

@RKinWA with your post a few weeks ago about it seemingly automatically switching to reverse when near an obstacle, I think you have something funky going on.

Yeah possibly, but I can already imagine bringing it in and trying to explain it. It would be in service for years and nothing would change ?

I would like to take a closer look at your break concerns. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage so I can start looking into this on my end?
