Local Ford dealer.

What's the price for a 20k service on a mach-E?

Here's the rates sir, starts at $99 for oil change.

Me..... its an EV.

Ford..... oh, it doesn't need anything then.

Me..... why does it have a 20k service schedule if it doesn't need anything?

Some dealers are just clueless.

I don't think there is a lot of value in the 10,20,30K checkups. I did have the dealer do these, ( I did the air filter myself) but honestly they rotate the tires and that is about it. Now that my car is out of the bumper to bumper warranty, I don't think it will be back for more of these checkups. It's an EV, it just runs.

Oh, yeah... and this is why dealers hate them.

I can go to my local Discount Tire and get the tires rotated for free. I can change the cabin air filter myself. I top off my own washer fluid. Unless my brakes are squealing or grabbing, I don't worry about them. And I don't trust any of my local dealers to mess with the battery unless it is broken or reporting problems. So I would not pay what that dealer is asking!
With time, knowledge and desire you can do pretty much anything yourself.

If you’re missing one or more of those things, you pay people to do things for you.

I’ve about given up trying to make sense of what things cost these days. ANYTHING with a labor charge just seems outrageous.

My neighbors found a water leak this week and needed someone to remove a 2 foot strip of drywall about 20 feet long on a wall.

They got charged $1200. 2 people took about 2 hours.

$300 per man hour for really basic unspecialized labor.

Just had the 90k service done, really just a tire rotation. Less than $30
Have had a dealer service at each of the 10k marks and never paid more than $30.

I have a 2022 Mach E RWD extended and it's time for my 30k service. I called two dealers in the area and it sounds like Ford is telling them to charge $200-250 for a Tire rotation, cabin air filter (I replaced myself already), fluid top-off and general inspection (including battery).

Given I spent $25 for the 10k and 20k service this is ridiculous! Am I the only one that the dealers are now trying to gouge here? 10x the price for essentially the same service? The one dealer said Ford just released the updated codes for EV service and what to charge.

Also, I asked what if I just did a Tire rotation and they said $50 (what the heck!!!)

What are you guys paying? Any tips?
I just had the 30K done on my Lightning for about $40.

I had my 10k service done at the dealer, but even a simple thing like tire rotation didn't get done correctly. I know they moved the tires around based on distinct markings on my rims. But they failed to reset the TPMS sensor positions. So they gauge prices and do sub-standard work on these service visits.

I’m fairly certain the car figures out the TPMS sensor positions on its own.

I hit 5K and paid $29 for tyre rotation. I’d guess the cabin filtre is around $20-30 plus labour. Resist would be inspection. $50-75 I think would be fair

My dealer wouldn't even do the 30k tire rotation, because "we don't have a certified EV mechanic on staff right now". Didn't know you needed to be EV certified to rotate the tires.

I've paid $0 for 10K service on each of my Mach-E's... Used FordPass Rewards to pay for them.

Have you ever had a Volvo or BMW get routine maintenance? 15 years ago I did for $250. I was shocked then, not surprised now

Personally, I would be happy to pay several hundred dollars if the service involves skilled and knowledgeable techs who actually pay attention to all of the items Ford lists in the service description in our owners manuals.

What has actually happened around here is that they charge a very small amount of money, probably nobody does those checks, and they rotate the tires. In one case, they charged me nothing and didn't even rotate the tires: the layer of road dirt around the jack points and wheels was undisturbed. In FordPass, it is listed as a service nonetheless. I'm not using that dealer any more, having taken the hint.
