Hi everyone. So driving to work today and after driving about a half mile I got a SSN message along with the red battery icon. Car wouldn't go into drive or neutral for about a half hour. It was towed to dealer after car went in neutral but I have no idea whats wrong with it. Its a Jan 21' build date and on the OG 12V battery.

I wouldn't expect to see stop safely now for a 12V issue.

Probably wouldn't have a low 12V problem *while driving*. The car would activate the DCDC if the 12V goes low while it's on.

Since it's already at the dealer, they are going to have to pull the specific codes to see what's going on.

Have you had the HVBJB recall performed yet?

Whoa. Maybe 12V was low while car was parked, but you were still able to get it started? I would have thought you would get SSN immediately upon starting the car. Waiting to alert until you're 1/2 mile down the road seems a little late.

Since you're 3+ years on the original 12V, might be worth replacing I guess.

The only thing I can think of is that I did remote start the car, so it was on before I got to it. The only weird thing is all the high voltage battery errors.

I hit a bump right after I got the SSN reduce power AWD fault. Thinking it might’ve sensed difference in power distribution. And bigger after market rims/tires didn’t help

Interesting. I didn't get reduced power though (i had no power at all). The road I was on isn't great but it wasn't so bumpy that it should cause this.

given that your MME is a '21.... I'd say chances are very high that you need to replace 12v

Thats what I'm thinking but I've never had a single error message about 12v or electrical drain or anything of that sort.

I had the battery health checked about 2 months ago and it was at 95% SOH still

the 'battery health' number you can see via ODB2 is your high voltage battery.

the 12v batteries are AGM and have a 36mo warranty. might make it to 40 months, but they fail suddenly and without much warning. you should replace asap if you have a '21.

No no like I had someone use a battery tester on it.
