It’s 78 miles each way and the route planner has me doing one charge on the way home for a short stop at 4 EA chargers in Aurora IL.
If you start with 100% charge, I wouldn't think you'd need to stop to charge at all.

Because Harley LiveWire bikes only take up to 25kW charging, the DCFCs at most Harley dealers are 25kW stations. Yes, you can expect charging to be 4-6 times faster at a 150kW EA station.
Right, but in this case, since he plugged in at over 80% SOC, it really didn't matter anyway.

I thought the same thing but I’ve never taken any kind of trip in a BEV so I just added that stop myself. I will be using the A/C and driving 70-75 MPH so I assume this will adversely effect how many miles I will get starting off with 100% SOC. Also, remember I have a standard battery pack and AWD. I’ll see soon enough and if I don’t stop and arrive home with at least 10-20% SOC then I’ll eliminate the stop altogether. I don’t want to white knuckle it by going down to anything below 10%. I’m definitely a new electric vehicle owner (aka “Newbie”) and once I get my bearings on how things work, I’ll relax and not have so much range anxiety.

Yeah, he may have been thinking the ER battery. With the SR AWD, I'd definitely plan for a charge. Technically it would probably still make a 156 mile round-trip (starting from 100%) even with A/C and high speed, but no reason to push it. Ya never know when an unexpected diversion or detour might add some miles. Or a headwind, or wet roads, etc.

Plus it's a good opportunity to get an EA charge in. EA is really the backbone for interstate road trips. Good to familiarize yourself with them. They're (relatively) fast too. A 10-15 minute charge should be plenty. Should add somewhere around 50-75 miles back in.

Quite true. It was a worthwhile experiment. I just was helping him understand it's not a good choice one day when he's really low on charge.

True, 12 kW is a little faster than most people's home L2. But it's in the same ballpark. Close enough to characterize it as being similar to standard L2, anyway.

The Ford Mobile charger is 7.6 kW. Many people have 9.6 or 11.5 charger at home.
