Does anyone know why Ford has pulled the BlueCruise 1.3 update?

Do you really think Ford feels differently about a customer with a 2021 than a customer with a 2022?

And I don't know if Ford ever uses the word promise when they are touting their intentions. They're underachievements are disappointing, but I doubt they are taking it out on anyone.
Seriously. Like the execs at Ford are like, “hey, you know what would be funny?

You don’t have to use the word “promise” for something to be a promise.

Ford said we would get something on a timeline that they aren’t even remotely close to.

If I told my son I will come to his baseball game in the “fall” of 2023, then it’s almost fall 2024 and I still haven’t gone to a baseball game

Do you think I console him by saying, “well, I never used the word promise?”

i think we all struggle to understand the incredibly complex ecosystem ford has developed with the machE platform. There are massive number of software vendors that all have to orchestrate and agree to updates that are as big and as complex as BC1.3....

I imagine the MY'21 has the most complexity and they streamlined some stuff with '22/'23 and we're probably stuck waiting for some additional testing to be completed or something by some vendor for a '21 that has no financial motivation to get it done quickly because of some contractual loophole somewhere

When Ford announces what's coming, I no where near hear anything they stated as though it was my dad talking.

Or put another way, marketing-speak is nothing like dad-speak.

I get the point though. And I even get the disappointment. I just don't get nearly as offended.

Not a GTPE, but my 2023 GT job 1 got it yesterday. I am not in EA.

Not sure if offended is the right word.

It really all depends on how much you care about what was promised and not delivered.

Frunk button? Not my concern, but certainly different for some people. ?

BC 1.3? Some people made purchase decisions based on this. It’s kinda a major feature.

2021-2023 GT power limits? Been over a year since the VP of Ford said “we will change that limit OTA” when asked about it for 2021-2023 cars.

I’m not offended by the last one. It straight up pisses me off. I bought this car for performance and was let down. And have spent almost 3 years holding on to the glimmer of hope that Ford will deliver on what was “promised.”

I purchased an additional 3 years of Blue Cruise based on Ford’s promise to update my car to the latest software. I contacted (phone call) Ford prior to my purchase and they promised a timely update - I’m still waiting.

Why does Ford make updates to the latest cars and forget the 2021 purchases? Is something different with our hardware that prevents Ford from updating our software?

Agree or not, 2021 cars are treated differently than everything else. We get parts for recalls last. We get to pay for renewal on software that is not being maintained. And, we get most software last.

The results are in the actions, or lack of. Not the words.

Ford clearly stated that they were sending the updates to ALL 2021 to 2023 cars by model year, starting with the 2022's. No matter which year they chose as a starting point, 2/3 of owners would get offended. Their choice of 2022MY as the starting point likely has a legitimate reason, but even if it was arbitrary they have broken no contract with you.

I too paid the $600 in December and it's annoying that I am still on 1.0, but I am smart enough to realize that there have been issues with the updates failing in a serious way so am content to wait until they get it right.

This has been discussed ad nauseam in the other BC threads

Yes, I called Ford tech support. I’ve had this screen under software updates for over a month now. But I’m starting to see reports on here and Facebook that maybe they’ve started up again.

This doesn’t mean that the update is pulled. “Not completed” simply means there was a server side error/mismatch and you will need to wait for Ford to re-send the update to your car. Not sure who ”verified” that the update was pulled but its simply not true. I find that the phone tech support doesn’t really know what is going on at all.

There are plenty of vehicles still receiving the update. 2022s and 2023s are still ongoing, with BC 1.3 available for 2021s in FDRS now (OTA likely soon).

Wait that is the first I heard that BC 1.3 is available to 2021's via FDRS. So I can have my garage install it on my GTPE 2021 now?

Yes, that’s correct. It showed up around August 7th, I installed it on my 2021 with no issues.

You’ll need to update the IPMA and PSCM. They are coordinated updates so its impossible to not update both anyways.

Where did they state this “clearly?” Because one of my complaints is the LACK of communication.

I’ve been in some form of customer service career my whole life and I have a simple standard-

Do what you say you’re going to do when you say you’re going to do it.

And if you can’t? Communicate clearly.

While we are talking about 2021s being 2nd class citizens with BC. How about how we paid $1900 for the hardware that 2023s get for free and my renewal price for BC is the same as theirs?

I won’t even get to sample BC 1.3 before my 3 yrs I paid for runs out it seems.
