After three years with my Mach-E, I still couldn’t be happier. There is no other vehicle on the market that I wished I had purchased instead. The only headaches I’ve experienced over the past year were the “12v battery fault”, “System shut down to save battery” warnings and text messages. These all went away, along with the few “Front camera fault” warnings, when I took my “Mustang” to my dealer for the first time three weeks ago. The technicians reset the BMS, performed IPMA alignment and reprogramed the battery charge control module. The Mach-E has performed perfectly ever since.

Over 80% of the energy that has charged my ME has come from the power provided by our solar panels (5-6 Kw) and the energy stored in our Tesla Powerwall (5 Kw). I always charge during daylight for about 3 hours, avoiding the peak costs of the 5-8:00 pm time period of my PG&E plan. The Powerwall is programed to only recharge from the solar panels. I am not what you would consider an environmentalist, but the Mach-E and our power setup just make economic sense.

BRB I need to buy an extension cord to <checks notes> California :bandit:

All joking aside, the MME was phase 1 of my multiphase plan. Quite a few neighbors have home generators here in the hurricane belt. I wanted something a little more quiet.

Congrats! What's the mileage?

Did the dealer check the 12V battery SOH? No replacement, I guess? Reading a lot of threads about 12V battery-related problems and being 2 months short from 3rd anniversary myself, I can't decide if I need to replace it proactively even though it doesn't show any sign of decline.

The 12v was at 57% when I brought it to the dealer. They did not replace it, but the reprogramming the technician did seems to keep it, he says, at 80% or above. I have not received any messages about low battery voltage since the dealer visit. While I was able to see the 12v voltage level on my Ford Pass account before my visit, the account now just displays HVB percentage, the same info that is on the instrument cluster.

Same here . . . . 3.5 years in and no real issues. No 12V issues either so far, but don't know battery status. No home batteries, but almost all energy comes from solar panels so very little cost for power. Almost 40k happy miles.

No solar but very similar experience. Car will be three in November and it still feels like new and is exciting to drive.

Only issues have been the front camera fault and the new 1 pedal drive fault. Front camera ended up being a $800 replacement (long story) and havent taken it in to resolve the 1 pedal fault. Also got unlucky recently and had a rock crack my front camera lense.

love the car

I'm lucky South Carolina lets me use their grid as a free Powerwall. I get every extra kWh I generate credited back to use with no fee. I'm sure it won't last forever, but EV and solar are made for each other.

Interesting, since the current strategy while the car is off is to wait until the LVB reaches ~40% before engaging the 12V charging circuit. While the car is running, it should maintain >80% SoC on the 12V battery. ??

Ford “fixed” the web site so that it displays the HVB% rather than the 12V%. Kind of sad. I would have preferred they just changed the nomenclature on the existing display and add one for HVB%. ?‍♂?

PG&E credits me everything that I generate. At true-up time they simply wipe any excess credits. ?‍♂?

I hit the three year mark in July. Other than the early days with PAAK issues the car has been rock solid for me. Sad to hear Ford will not make a Gen 2 Mach-E.

Around 2.5 years I had an OTA that kept failing. Took it to the dealer and they changed the 12V and "boom" the update went through. However, I never had any symptoms of a low 12V other than a failed OTA. Love My MME!
