Warranty voided because of Borla Active Performance Sound?

BTW, I have to ask... how does this mod work that is causing you this grief? I checked out your post when you installed it and its like 10 pages long now! I saw the clips but am still confused on how you activate it. Does it work with the accelerator pedal or manual, or both...

I believe the system monitors things like speed, power, RPM, torque, and throttle load and it uses the information it gets from the car to produce the sound. It plugs into a wiring harness under the steering column. So if you are at a stop light and you put it in neutral and press the pedal, it sounds like you're revving the car, and when moving it'll play sounds like if your are up or downshifting. It sounds like an ICE car. The only manual part is the volume control which you screw in under the headlight controls, and it has 4 presets so I can pick Mustang GT, GT500, C8 corvette, or SRT 392 Charger. Eventually it'll have an app to pick other car sounds or sounds like the Jetsons car if you're old enough to know what that is. I can tell you that if you sit at a red light and rev it at high volume, it will in fact cause the device to overheat, much like an ICE. I found that kind of funny.

ok, thanks for the info. Sounds like a well thought out system. And yes, I am old enough to know what the Jetsons are, although by the time I watched it in the 70s/80s I think it was in syndication. That might be my sound of choice!

To anyone watching my thread, I got ahold of customer service over at Borla and was told that Ford sells the Shelby edition Mach E with the sound system installed from the factory and Ford also sells Mach E's to Hertz from the factory preinstalled with the same system. He said there is no possible way that it voids any warranty.

In short, this product launch was a cluster. Lightning model never came out, Mach-E version has to be reworked, app still not ready, and a price ($1,606.99) that only an engineer could come up with.

Yes, it appears that Ford and Borla have some similarities. Although I must say it is pretty cool to ask a question on the Facebook group and have Dave Borla himself respond to your concern. I don't think Jim Farley will ever do such a thing.
PS-I have no clue why the speaker needs to be upgraded. I went to pick up my son from a friend's house and he said he could hear me from a block away.

Yeah right I was like is this Chris of Borla wow all my cars as a current man boy (no kids no wife= no responsibilities but sadly I’ll die alone ?) any who I had problems but it was with installer not product I got mine in December last year so I’ll ask if I need to return mine hint hint but you’re right ironically the only thing that vibrates is the oem sub working horribly with my 10in sub. My installer said system overall pretty powerful just sub sucks on oem. We didn’t work around it and bypass he used it then added aftermarket idk if it sings pretty without factory but you can feel sound in surround mode. Also if someone sees this what forum can post lease extended warranty papers for someone to look at I had some questions.

I would have mentioned Small Claims Court and told them that they can prove their claims in court. I had an issue with a dealer and mentioned Small Claims Court and they changed their mind promptly.
