Order placed Feb 29, 2024. 2021 GT so I have a fairly early VIN. Sep is now the ship month.
VIN doesn't make any difference in the order or shipping sequence.

Nobody has gotten any since June? Thats pretty messed up. No wonder there’s no recent threads about it.
Tesla has not shipped any adapters to Ford since June.

I've come to believe that Elon had second thoughts about granting Ford owners access to the SC network and deliberately throttled adapter supply to limit the number of users. No proof of that, of course, but the access was originally announced eight months before they threw the switch and there was plenty of time to ramp up production ahead of the activation.

So, sure, Tesla technically complied with the access on Feb 29, but at that point few adapters were in circulation and there were no 3rd party options to go to. Even now it's only a fraction of F-150 Lightning and Mach-E owners who have adapters. I think this was deliberate.

I could buy this for sure. It would also explain why more OEMs haven't been granted access by now. It was bad timing to fire the entire SC team and slow down the rollout of Superchargers at the same time that they were granting access to the first OEMs, planning to add additional OEMs, and send out all these adapters. I'm sure they would feel a lot more comfortable sending out masses of adapters and greenlighting additional OEMs if they were still accelerating Supercharger deployment. That's not the case anymore, and the team got gutted. (Yes I know they haven't stopped building Superchargers entirely.)

I've had my A2Z adapter since June and I'm very glad that I didn't wait for the free adapter from Ford. I've been able to go on road trips this summer that I wouldn't have bothered with if I didn't have Supercharger access.

Yeah, that would seem to explain things and I wouldn’t put it past him.

Pure speculation.
I personally believe it's the post Covid world where supply chain shoddyness is tolerated as though it's no big deal.

I honestly don't know what will ever fix it, or return it to customer expectations carrying the weight it once did.

If I had to guess, only good old fashioned marketplace pressure will work? One competitor doing such a better job that they steal the market share enough to cause pain for the competition?

A2Z is obviously selling a LOT of adapters that they wouldn't be selling if the free adapters were being delivered efficiently. I bet they are high-5ing every time they hear of further delays.

they're not actually, I specifically asked purchasers of new 24s, they were told to order the same way we are based on vin #. I was surprised, I'd figured surely they'd provide one with each new car ( like they originally did with portable evse)
yep, got my 2024 MME 2 weeks ago today. Ordered my adapter same day, scheduled for October.

They have been shipping them to Rivian, many Rivian owners have received adapters in August. Not sure why Rivian is getting priority.

And even though GM does not have official access yet, they are having Lectron build adapters. Ford needs to work with an alternate supplier.

Maybe Rivian is paying more for their adapters ?

They may be rotating between Ford and Rivian. Perhaps GM as well soon. Demand far exceeds supply.

Don’t forget that Elmo fired his entire charging division, including the folks responsible for producing these adapters.
