So have a very interesting story, As we were leaving Disney today we saw a security guard behind my car and then a sheriff's deputy pulls up as i'm walking back to my car, I see the guard at my door and when I get to the car I ask him what's going on, He told me that a family stopped him and let him know that the people that just parked next to me that are driving a Tesla mind you got out of the car and a lady from the back seat came out and took something and stabbed my tire and when she saw the family (the witness) watching her, she quickly put it back in the car and they quickly grabbed their stuff and went into the park. Thank God the security guard was smart and collected the family's info for the deputy as he asked me if I wanted to press charges and I said you bet your ass I do. Luckily the Tesla is registered to an address that is local and in the same county and apparently the witness took a picture of the lady so they have a clear image of who it was. So they will be following up with the Tesla owners in the next day or so to pursue charges of vandalism. Ive seen ICE drivers do stuff like this to EVs but I would of NEVER in 100 years thought another EV owner would be malicious towards another EV owner and it wasn't like we were charging, we were legit in a parking spot.

So now on to my question, I used the tire repair kit and inflated the tire enough to get me to a pepboys as everyone else was already closed and the employee at Pep Boys told me that once a tire has any sort of fix a flat in it they can no longer patch a tire and it must be replaced and of course the tire was $250 and they have to order it.

Can anyone confirm if this is true or was he just blowing smoke to make a tire sale?

The hole in on the treads, maybe 1 inches from the side wall and the size is maybe 2MM if that it appears she used something like a nail file etc it was super small.

Just trying to prepare for either a $250 tire or a $25 fix. I'm hoping for the latter since the car has less than 2K miles on it.

Have them repair it with a patch.

Wow, are some Tesla drivers THAT mad that non-Teslas get to use Superchargers now?
Even if you just get the tires plugged/patched while it’s your money, I hope the vandal has to buy you a whole new tire when this is all said and done.
I haven’t had to deal with a punctured tire yet (knock wood), so I’m unsure if the tire goo prevents repairs. I have heard it can damage your TPS sensor, though, requiring that to be replaced.

In the past I've had tire places tell me if it's too close to the edge of the trade they won't patch, but I'd take it to a tire place like discount tire, they patch tires for free. I've had two done at our local shop

Which Disney? Florida, right? I mean, this has to be Florida.

So the tire stabber was still in the park when you came out?

I've always heard that once you shoot in tire goo, that patching isn't possible. But as others have mentioned, take it to a tire store where they specialize in this. I wouldn't just take the word of the pep boys guy.

CAN MY TIRE BE REPAIRED AFTER USING FIX-A-FLAT?
Yes, there is nothing in the formulation that would prevent a tire from being repaired. Advise the tire repair professional that you have used the Fix-a-Flat brand tire inflator in your tire, so they may properly clean the tire for repair. Fix-a-Flat cleans up easily with soapy water and a shop rag. Warranties vary by tire manufacturer. Contact your tire manufacturer for specific details.

If there is a nearby repair shop, I would recommend trying to inflate the tire without sealant first to see if you can get enough air in the tire to make it to the repair shop.

If the puncture wound is on the tire’s tread and not near the shoulder, the goo can be cleaned and the tire patched. If it is either near the shoulder or on the sidewall, it cannot be patched regardless of goo. Given that someone stabbed your tire and the most accessible part of the tire is the sidewall, my assumption is that the sidewall was punctured. ??

Thanks for that, I saw that from Fixaflat as well which gave me hope but others online said it makes to big of a mess. Unfortunately I used the Fords Tire repair kit and when I used it in the parking lot it shot the goo in the tire. Honestly I wasnt paying attention that the tire kit even had this tire slime in it, It was pouring down rain, I was pissed someone would do this to my tire and then I was also trying to answer questions with security/Sheriff.

If I would of known it would of been this big of a deal with the slime I would of just had it towed to a repair discount tire.

Don't take our word for it. Take it to a tire specialist.

Of course, Currently sitting at Ford right now. They are trying to find the hole right now but the official word from them is as long as that sealant hasn't had time to start and dry up or bond to the tire they can patch it but once it starts to dry and harden then the tire needs to be replaced.

Good news is I have more than enough Ford Pass points to pay for the tire and add a 3 year protection plan on all 4 tires so if something like this happens again I don't have to worry about it.

Quick update, They found the hole and got it patched up! No new tire! The advisor told me you usually have 48-72 hours before the sealant starts to harden up and after that then they cant patch it.

Ill deff be looking into adding the tire protection plan! Thanks for all the help!

If you can, I would get a new tire. I think it’s better to roll on a brand new tire because of the fact that MachE’s don’t have spares.

You might also check out that place that sells spare tires for MachE’s just to have one in the trunk.

Glad you got it patched. I'm so curious about the motivation behind this attack. Did you come in at about the same time? Any chance you unwittingly cut them off or had some kind of interaction prior to parking? Were you parked over or especially close to the line? I can understand the impulse to do something like this after some kind of road-rage-inducing incident, but to do it randomly to a parked car is beyond bizarre.

NB: Disney is not the best place to commit crimes if you want to get away with them. You are being recorded throughout every inch of the property.
