Video here: I put the phone on the floor between the rear seat and the center console. I've only had the car a month but I don't remember the sound happening until a few weeks ago after I got it back from the HVBJB recall. I'm pretty sensitive to noise pollution so I think this would have jumped out at me. It happens randomly. Not triggered by anything I can think of. Just starts rattling. Sometimes it wont do it at all on a full drive. Sometimes it's doing it CONSTANTLY. I took it back to the dealership and they told me they fixed it by putting some sort of tape around the seat contacts but it never went away.

I've already pulled everything that isn't bolted down out of the car and tested and there was no change.

Is it the cracking sound?
I’m very sensitive too. That would drive me crazy.
I sold my Corvette because it started clicking 2 months after they replaced the transmission for $6K.

Yeah that clicking sound. And yes it’s infuriating.
I shouldn’t need to sell it - California has strong lemon laws. I’m taking it in for repair attempt #2 next week. 3 strikes and they’re out.

Hi Max! I can look into your Mach-E's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

I have this exact same rattling noise and it's driving me crazy. It has gotten worse too. Did you ever figure out a solution?

I found a plastic bead between the rear seat cushion and the frame that made a similar noise if you haven't looked there yet. It's just two hooks that hold the rear seat cushion down, pulls right up.

Hello! I'm a 2021 Mach-e4x owner with about 30,000 miles on the clock, still under full warranty. I've been mostly happy with my ownership experience so far.

About a few months ago, one morning I noticed a very loud "Creak" coming from the rear passenger wheel area. It came out of nowhere. The creak happens when I start to move forward or backward, accelerate or decelerate- basically anytime the rear suspension has less downforce or more due to momentum changes. It is very loud. The sound is heard inside and outside- and every time I pull away or up to a location or stop light the loudest "creaaaaak" comes from the back of this otherwise very nice car.

I only drive using one pedal driving, so the brakes are not engaged when this issue happens. The car can be rolling and I start going faster and it will happen.

I brought it to my local Ford dealership who kept it overnight. They "narrowed it down to the brakes," saying that corrosion on them is causing this creaking sound. I've always worked on my own cars, whether it was oil changes, tires/wheels, brakes, wiring, etc- I know my way around a car. I asked the lead tech why they thought it was a brake issue when it's clearly a suspension issue and the brakes don't engage for the problem- and I was told "that's what we're going with, we'll start there."

I find it fairly annoying and almost dishonest to the customer that my vehicle, still under warranty, has this extremely loud suspension creak, and the one place that we are going to start to try to fix it is a $700 fix out of my pocket for a part my car doesn't need. I've gone to this dealer and usually had a good experience, and I prefer going there as they offer loaner cars while the car is in the shop.

I am hoping to get assistance from Ford Corporate @Ford Motor Company , as well as other people who have had similar issues. This car is a new product by Ford, and these issues that arise shouldn't be passed onto the consumer, especially when the issue isn't related to the fix. I have attached a video showing the issue from different angles.

Anyone with similar stories or fixes- I'd be grateful to hear from you.

Thanks!

Is it this?

Wind your window down and press your loud pedal & take up drive then release it fully, if you get this noise, it’s the rear wheel bearing.
