I'd suggest you go back to the top post, and read that thru....
I have, and there you had the car ON?

What I am asking in the question, is whether you have tried in OFF mode? and then see if it also worked here, now that the car should be charging around 40-50% on LVB, if HVB is over 15%.

It would be nice to know that the car does not necessarily have to be in ON mode outside the house.

So iam just curious if you have tried it?

I did not try it because it would be very unkind to the tiny 12v battery to draw much if any load from the battery without the car being "on" to supply the energy from the HV instead of the LV battery.

Ok, probably thought it wasn't tested. That's also why I asked directly about it?

I have ordered the equipment and will probably try it out in OFF mode, while keeping alot control on the LVB status.

I would not recommend that you even try running any loads with the MME 'off'. The little (34ah) battery will 'sag' badly under even small loads.... It *should* trigger the MME to charge when it drops to about 12.2, but if the MME is in deep sleep the LV voltage may drop so low between checking that it cannot wake up.... your vehicle would be 'bricked', and it may even lock you out since the battery would not be completely dead you couldn't use the front terminals to pop the hood.

You will be taking un-needed risk of bricking the vehicle, and being very hard on your 12v battery. I would advise against exporting any 12v power with the vehicle off.

Agree on this, it would be foolish to try to run a large 12V load with the car off because of the bricking potential. Car may not wake up in time to charge it.

Yes, that would be a problem if it doesn't check constantly in sleep mode later (maybe at night), which it probably doesn't. So with that in mind, it's probably best not to. Because maybe it works fine at first, but if it still goes into sleep mode and the battery is not checked in time, the chance of a dead LVB battery is pretty high as you sad.
However, I just don't know if it's an assumption, or factually that if it goes into sleep mode, wil it stop tjekking status often enough in sleep mode.

So probably not worth trying without being willing to buy a new LVB battery, for such an experiment.
Totally agree?
