I see that there are queues in SoCal chargers fairly often...

• Is there a place to wait in line for the next available charger?
• If so, can you see all the chargers from one place to see when someone leaves to avoid circling? or is there some kind of "charger available" board?

8/2/25 charge review:

Tried out the new Rove charge location since I was nearby.

V4 Tesla Superchargers are listed on the Tesla app as compatible but would not connect nor charge at 3 stations I tried - each gave the red charge light ring.

Asked the 2 on site attendants and they said they have seen issues with other brands charging at these Superchargers.

Ended up charging at ABB (CCS1) using a card but at a higher rate than the Superchargers.

Quite disappointed - 2nd time failed charging at V4 towers.

I filed a "non working" supercharger issue on the Tesla app.
Will follow up with the county as well.

2 strange issues:
1. Ford charge history showing Rove Tesla Magic Dock for the ABB session.
2. Blue repair tags on all the Tesla and ABB chargers from the county weights and measures dept.

For what it is worth, we have been there three times because they are close to a store my wife likes to shop at when in the LA area.

We have never tried the Tesla chargers there though. I might be stupid, but we rarely use fast charging, and I have a thing about giving a certain someone any money. I will use them in an emergency, but that is it. The ABB (CCS1) chargers work great and at least the times we have gone there (two times in the day and once at night) there were lots of chargers open, so I even charged to 90% one time.

And I just noticed something "strange", the Ford App recorded the charge session at Rove as "Tesla - Santa Ana, CA - 17th Street". I guess that is what you get at a place that has both ABB and Tesla chargers.

On our last trip we did charge at Telsa in Coalinga, CA mostly because there are only 4 Electrify America chargers there, and some crud decided to damage two of them (12 cars waiting).

We were going to try out the Lost Hills one just because it is so big (didn't even need the charge at the time), but it hadn't yet opened. It looked very close to being open, chargers in place, solar arrays and all, but all the chargers were covered.

I was curious if the Lost Hills station was open, since we were there on July 11th and like I said all the chargers were covered and there were construction trucks moving around it. The only reason we stopped is because I looked on plug share and one guy said it was open.

I just looked at an article that claimed it was open on July 5th.

For some reason, on my Tesla app, Lost Hills is not available.

But if you check the website, it say it's available - only 20 chargers out of 168....

I do know that they planned on 84 to start, and 168 was the final number, but only 20 after what should have been a July 5th opening... Makes you wonder what went wrong. Supposedly they were to use almost nothing from the grid.

We've charged a couple of times using that exact stall in the pic -- and thats the one we used for our YouTube video thumbnail for the Grand Opening. Even though it says Magic Dock, the Magic Dock doesn't work and we had to use an adapter. The Tesla app says adapter required.

Lost Hills has been switching from opened to closed while construction continues. From what I understand, they wanted to make sure it was open for the July 4th weekend and other busy times, but they will close it while they build the permanent bathrooms.
