...there were mentions of apps like YouTube being available, would this be for Canada too as I still don’t have that in my Mach-e as it doesn’t appear to have been made available here.
I'm a Canadian MME driver and I've had YouTube for a couple months now. Go into the app drawer and check the Entertainment tab, you might have it already.

This makes me feel better about my plan to 'jump ship' in January, when I'll return my Mach-E (end of Ford Options) and switch to a tiny-frunked Ionic 5 with native NACS port & 800v architecture.
Other than the 800v architecture there is nothing I have experienced that would lead me to recommend any Hyun/Kia car. I've had three of them and it would take a lot to make me consider a 4th. Just my $0.02, and YMMV.

I like the PRNDLolator back on the stalk where it belongs, as I really hate the dial shifters in modern Fords...
Love the addition of the ventilated seats, missed them from the Lincoln we had. Once you have experienced a cold ass, you never want to go back.
Steps in the right direction.

What's with the obsession over native NACS ports? Did iphone people seriously not buy a particular iphone model because it didn't have USB-C?
it makes things a lot easier around our house now that iPhone is USB-C, because all our other devices are USB-C.

Just when you get used to the rotary shifter they move it somewhere else. Now when you want the wipers you will shift in reverse. Come on Ford, make up your mind.

Ford could have made it even worse. Just imagine how many Ram owners shifted to Park by mistake whenever a song from Nickelback was playing on the radio!

I don't think that one-time fee was referring to BlueCruise but for the Premium Connectivity.
I can only imagine someone at the dealership being sold 'One month on a month to month no contract, no early termination fees $75. Or Lifetime for $8000. You really should get lifetime, you're going to try to use this all the time, and new features are coming soon.'

Nice additions for sure, I welcome the heat pump and am okay with the loss of frunk space. I like the column mounted shifter for the extra console storage, ventilated seats are fantastic and the visual packages are really nice for those like myself who want the styling but wouldn’t want to buy the GT as we don’t race.
Only misses I can see are the lack of their new android automotive platform with the faster CPU and general performance. Would have been nice to get improvements to the charging as well.
If they really did remove the powered lift gate, then that is also a fail. One of my favourite and most used features from my 2021 premium.

there were mentions of apps like YouTube being available, would this be for Canada too as I still don’t have that in my Mach-e as it doesn’t appear to have been made available here.
The Android Automotive OS has always been slated for model refresh in the past so this didn’t surprise me. Kick to open liftgate were a 2021 model year only thing. Mine only works haphazardly so I’d not miss it on a newer model year. Manually opening and closing though would be a definite downgrade though imo.

BTW, you gain a heat pump but you lose ~ half the frunk space:
IMG_0080.webp

One of my photos from an event last week in NY state. More on that coming.
They repacked the radiator and slanted it backwards. On the current models the radiator is vertical like a traditional ICE, and the frunk has the curved lump at the front with the cup holders for the radiator fan. Now they’ve tilted the radiator backwards for more surface area (desirable with a heat pump) and the frunk is now more of a tray than a deep compartment. Tradeoffs I guess, but I’m glad they still left some space to put a charge cord in there. I don’t think most people use the full frunk regularly. I see they left a drain in the frunk, so you can still have your iconic frunk shrimp party.

Good news, heat pump will be standard on all 2025 models.

Supposedly new electrical architecture as well, I don’t have any details on that yet but perhaps there’s a switch to lithium 12V battery? Hopefully this means less 12V issues.

The suspension has been retuned for the Select and Premium models for greater comfort. Hopefully this means it’s less stiff and not as bouncy. New brake pad materials that are less noisy too.

And *I HOPE* they added the kW charging rate to the new instrument cluster software…

I have to question the heat pump hype for a car (notwithstanding that I heat my house that way). Unless it's designed as a "cold climate" unit, it won't be a game changer in really cold climates. It will, in any event, be slow to deliver heat and that is important to get those windows defrosted, especially if your trip isn't that long. I really like the instant heat, along with the incredible seat heaters, that we have now. The steering wheel heat setpoint could be a little higher but that's a small thing.
FYI you can change the temp on the steering wheel with Forscan...

<edit>

My bad on my claim you change the temp settings on the steering wheel with Forscan. Apparently the Mach-E doesn't have this option.

The heatpump is a nice addition but I thought we had evolved past stalk shifters, I know it sounds shallow but it's a dealbreaker for me. Hard pass. Also no native NACS is sad face

If it is similar to the VW id4, the "P", is a push button on the end of the stalk. This was an annoying feature I had to Youtube, on my id4 test drive.
Sorry, I much prefer the ID.4 shifter to the Mach-E, my parents have an ID.4 and I've driven it a fair amount.

Everything else though, I prefer the Mach-E.

With the possible exception of, the cargo space has better utility on the ID.4 for taking 3-4 people from the airport, but it's really a larger vehicle, so I'm not sure how much value a direct comparison has.

Evolved past stalk shifters? Most EVs use them.

Also, what's with the call for native NACS? You are still going to have to use an adapter for some time unless you plan on using Tesla Superchargers exclusively. Unless you are buying a charger for the first time or came from a Tesla, you probably have a J1772 charger/EVSE as well.

No, I'll take the range hit in exchange for any perceived improvements.
This heat pump thing is absolutely one of those things that because Tesla did it, it became canon for something all EVs must have, but the trade-offs for its inclusion are real.

I hope it gives people more peace of mind at least that the Mach-E will now have it.

2025 Mustang Mach-E Adds Sportier Looks, Auto Lane Changes and More

  • Added Standard Equipment: The 2025 Mustang Mach-E® adds a heat pump to help optimize energy consumption, especially in colder weather conditions
  • More Personalization: A Sport Appearance Package offers Mustang Mach-E GT design elements on Premium models; new colors and wheels are also available
  • Enhanced BlueCruise: The latest version of hands-free highway driving, adds Automatic Lane Change, automating up to 45% of lane changes on an average drive, based on internal testing

DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 21, 2024 – To give customers more of what they have been asking for, 2025 Mustang Mach-E adds a new standard heat pump, automatic lane changes using the latest version of available BlueCruise1 hands-free highway driving – BlueCruise 1.5 – and a new Sport Appearance Package, all at an appealing price point and with zero vehicle emissions.

“We’ve built strong relationships with our customers over the last four years, and continue to make upgrades based on their feedback,” said Donna Dickson, Mustang Mach-E chief engineer. “We’re dedicated to giving them the best version of Mustang Mach-E possible, and that means giving them features they have been asking for, like the new heat pump and more interior space up front.”

Ford continues to monitor forums and listen to customers to integrate their feedback into its products and to enhance the total electric vehicle ownership experience by offering the Ford Power Promise, which addresses customer pain points.

Premium and Sporty
For Premium model buyers seeking a sportier look, a new Sport Appearance Package brings key styling cues from Mustang Mach-E GT at a lower price point, including the front fascia and grille shield and painted red front Brembo®-branded brake calipers, as well as 19-inch Monochromatic High-Gloss Black-Painted wheels and black-painted door cladding and wheel lips.

Red accent stitching and sport pedals complete the interior upgrades. Ventilated front seats are now standard on Premium models. A column-mounted shifter replaces the previous center- mounted dial shifter on all models, freeing up console space.

Automatic Lane Changes With BlueCruise 1.5
BlueCruise 1.5, the latest version of the available hands-free highway driving system, debuts on the 2025 Mustang Mach-E. BlueCruise 1.5 includes a new feature, Automatic Lane Change, where the system can smoothly and seamlessly perform a lane change for you without driver input.

BlueCruiseSoftwareVersions_1.5.jpg

BlueCruise 1.5 will initiate a lane change if the vehicle ahead is slower than the set speed or if a vehicle is following too closely in the passing lane. It keeps drivers engaged longer in hands- free mode and helps navigate traffic. Internal testing shows BlueCruise 1.5 automates up to 45% of driver-initiated lane changes on a typical drive.

New 2025 Mustang Mach-E customers will have more options at vehicle order for how they access BlueCruise, with a one-year plan and one-time purchase option.2 Those who opt for the one-time purchase won’t need to reactivate BlueCruise. A 90-day complimentary trial is also available for those who don’t choose either plan option.

In-Vehicle Experience: New Ford Connectivity Package
The new Ford Connectivity Package enhances the in-vehicle experience. This package includes:
  • Wi-Fi® Hotspot: 5G Wi-Fi keeps drivers and their family online and connected while on the road. This can be used for up to 10 personal devices and can extend up to 50 feet from the vehicle, great for camping or tailgating. 3
  • Apps: Access apps via the in-vehicle screen to watch YouTube or sing along to in- vehicle karaoke while parked. Occupants can also stream their favorite audio entertainment apps via Alexa.4
  • Maps: Access Connected Navigation to get where you need to go, including features such as EV Trip Planner, Predictive Destinations, and Route Guidance.5
At vehicle order, customers can select a one-time purchase6 without having to worry about setting up a plan. If they don’t select this option, they will receive a one-year complimentary trial upon activation and then can set-up an annual plan.
    More Personalization Choices
Giving customers more ways to personalize their Mustang Mach-E, three new optional colors make their debut for 2025, including Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat7, Velocity Blue Metallic7, and Desert Sand. Three new wheel designs are introduced, including a Dark Carbonized Gray wheel for Mustang Mach-E Rally.
The GT Performance Upgrade remains available as a factory option or a purchase through the FordPass® app after delivery.
The 2025 Mustang Mach-E goes on sale in early 2025, starting at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $36,495.

1Available feature. Equipped Ford vehicles come with either a complimentary trial period or an included duration, after which purchase of a BlueCruise subscription is required. Modem activation is required for subscription purchase and for initial activation of BlueCruise (for pre-2024 model-year vehicles). See ford.com/bluecruise for details. BlueCruise is a driver-assist feature and does not replace safe driving or driver’s attention, judgment, or need to control the vehicle. Only remove hands in a hands-free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control. See Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.
2BlueCruise service will be active for a minimum seven years (nontransferable to another VIN). No additional subscription purchase will be required to maintain BlueCruise service beyond the seven years if the service is available.
3Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Data speeds may temporarily be slowed down if network is busy.
4Some Alexa Built-in features require the Ford Connectivity Package or Wi-Fi® network.
5After Connected Navigation three-year inclusion expires, Connected Navigation is only available as part of the Ford Connectivity Package.
6The Ford Connectivity Package will be active for a minimum seven years (nontransferable to another VIN). No additional subscription purchase will be required to maintain connectivity service beyond the seven years if the service is available.

I thought Tesla got rid of stalks? In any case, it’s sort of a silly little retro thing.
The brand new Model Y we drove before buying a Mach-E had one, IIRC.
