Hi! So, i have owned my 2023 Mustang Mach E for almost 2 years now. I absolutely LOVE IT but I recently got into an issue this week.
On a Monday evening, in an empty parking lot, where all my car had to do was move forward to park itself, and behind me was two poles with a chain and a crossed section on the floor that marks pretty much no parking, my friends asked if my car parked itself. I said, "I think so, here's a button for it, I've never pressed it, should I try it?"
"YES!!" So, I just pressed the button once (not holding it down) and my car started moving fairly swiftly backwards by the two poles and crashed into them and the chained fence and made a huge crash sound and I slammed on my brake so fast. I was so confused since my car has all of the sensors in the world and I got scratches and dents on my bumper and passenger door from the chains. My car didn't make any warning, or stop or sound that it was backing into something. I've done more research and found that the 2023 does not have park assist, but definitely that button on my car states otherwise because it didn't give me any option to move anywhere. It just started moving. I called the Ford Customer Relations number and they advised to take it to the Ford Dealership and they will have to run a diagnositc. They have ran it for about 2 - 3 days now and extended my loaner. I took it in on Wednesday. My issue is, is that when they called me Friday, they said my car is good to go, they didn't find anything wrong. I asked what do I do from here because these dents and scratches was due to my car moving swiftly by itself and seeming the cars sensors does not work with this feature and the service advisor told me my car does not have park assist and i said then what is that button in the middle i pressed marked "P" and made my car move then? He went to check and finally found the button I mentioned after much advisement on where to find it and my car is still in the dealership running more tests. Can anyone please help me as to what I should state to them? I feel like its really unfair for me having to pay to get my scratches and dent fixed when my car has a button advised to park assist and completely moved automatically and scraped and scratched my car.
