I have been following usage of local chargers on Plugshare. This includes the one local Tesla station. Plugshare shows which the number of plugs at each station in use except for the Tesla station. On the other hand, my FordPass app does show how many Tesla plugs are in use. Does anyone know why Plugshare does not show the plugs in use at Tesla? Is this a local problem or common?

Which database does Plugshare need to access to get this info?

Plugshare doesn't have realtime availability data for all networks (eg. EA and Tesla). If you select the "available now" filter those drop off. I assume it's up to each provider to expose that info to plugshare.

Use the Tesla app on your phone. It will show all available chargers for use with an adapter. Also you can use it to start the charger if it does not begin when plugged in.

Which Tesla App is the correct one? I see a few in the App Store.

You miss the point. Plugshare lists "all" available sources of charging so we do not have to consult multiple apps. Having to consult the Tesla app, the EA app, and the FordPass app to find a charger is inconvenient.

The trouble with real-time info on PlugShare is that it depends on the people using the charger to check in. They don't tie into the providers' databases at all.

"Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result" is often referred to as the definition of insanity, a phrase commonly attributed to Albert Einstein, meaning that repeatedly trying the same approach without changing anything while hoping for a different outcome is illogical and futile.

Plugshare doesn't display most of the Tesla charger prices so you need the Tesla app to see the prices anyway.

What do they say, “It is what it is?” You can certainly give PlugShare your feedback about it but in the meantime, if you want to know how many Tesla chargers are occupied, I would utilize the Tesla app. Maybe someday, Ford will actually get the Tesla chargers loaded into the Ford navigation - maybe, … someday…

I like to use the Ford Pass app to see which stalls at a Tesla supercharger are available. The Tesla app will tell you for example, 4 out of 8 stall are available. It doesn't tell you if stall 2A is available; that's were the Ford Pass app come into play.
