This morning I installed the security update on my S22 Ultra with Android 14. Yes, Bluetooth stopped working. Security of my phone is way more important than PAAK working.

So your phone wasn't secure last week? ?

I tried to stop my phone from installing the update until the fix became available. Had I been successfull, (I wasn't) I'm pretty sure my phone was plenty safe to use.

Ford earned your remark.
But I doubt Ford broke this.

This problem is Ford specific. My wife's Mod 3 PaaK still works from my Fold 4.

I just got this email today just after 9 AM PST. I drove into work at 7 AM using PaaK with no issues. I haven't tried again since the message.

Edit: I just noticed the message says Android 14 specifically and not Android 14 or later. Since I'm on Android 15 (Pixel 7 Pro) this issue may not impact me or others on new version of Android.

Yes I have this problem I have a Samsung s22 and my phone as a key stopped working about a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately I was home so I was able to use the fob. The more concerning issue with this problem is that my passcode screen did not show up allowing me to put in my passcode to start the car. To me that's the bigger issue because I have had my phone as a key not work quite a few times and it wasn't that big of a deal because I was able to get in the car using my code on the door column and then starting the car using the passcode backup screen.

I have searched the internet for this issue and I did find a couple of YouTubes that show how to get your passcode screen to display but those things did not work for me.

Has anybody else experienced this and if so do you have a solution the passcode screen not displaying issues.

Thanks!

I
I believe it has to do with the December security update for Samsung phones. I have a Samsung S22+ and I was good as of this morning. But I see my phone is scheduling a security update on Saturday morning, and I'm guessing that's where the problem will be for me.
I have Samsung S22 Ultra with Android 13 and so far no issues. I use PAAK all the time so hopefully it doesn't become an issue.

I just got a notice to update my Pixel 6a to Android 15. If I do this I wonder if I can avoid this potential issue... Or if Ford will discover that there is a problem with Android 15 as well....
I haven't had any issues with my Pixel 6 on A15 (AP4A.241205.013, specifically). I'm pretty religious about forcing updates as soon as Android OTAs drop, even sideloading them if the server isn't offering it.

If anything, I'd say that my PAAK has been more reliable recently -- I haven't needed to kill Fordpass or toggle BT in the last couple weeks.

Here's another one to try:

- Force Backup Start Code prompt on tablet
1. press brake for 15 sec
2. wait 15 sec
3. press and hold Start Button and Brake Pedal together
4. code prompt should pop up

This must be pretty serious. I just got this push notification. I've never seen Ford send anything like this in the past. They probably should have led with this approach since many people don't check email as regularly.

I've personally only had that happen to me once a couple years ago, but it was only temporary. Since then I picked up one of these key fob faraday pouches and keep a spare key hidden inside the car. Now if there is ever an issue I don't have to worry about being stranded.

Something strange today. I used my phone to login to a site with my Google account for first time. I then got and Google alert saying A new sign-in on Pixel 6 Pro. Problem is my phone is a galaxy s23. Wonder if the last update change the identity of my phone and that's now why Mach-E is not allowing Bluetooth to connect. Maybe has nothing to do with it but strange Google ID my phone as an Pixel 6 pro when it's not. I just took the updates to my phone the other day. What does anyone think?
