Could be. Another thing I should mention is there might be a software update for the eye tracker that improves performance in difficult scenarios such as yours. If you send your VIN to me or the guys in the update check topic, they can let you know if you have a CMR update available, which could help.
Appreciate it. I am fully updated in FDRS though (except that last ABS drop I’ve been too lazy to apply).

At least it does work pretty flawlessly during daytime, obviously my preferred time to drive.

So now that it’s getting dark earlier I have learned that I can’t get the nanny cam to stop kicking BC off. Yes, I have a high prescription, I even have prisms.

During the day I can wear my shades and use BC all day, but at night as soon as the sun goes down every couple second….watch the road. I thought maybe polarized lenses were what helped, but the yellow tinted glasses don’t seem to help. If I get wearing gray tinted shades at night it’s fine…except then I am wearing dark tinted glasses at night.

Anyone else have a similar problem and been able to overcome it? Or is just this another category of how screwed up my vision is.

Sadly makes BC 100% unusable once the sun goes down.
There are two things that come to mind:
Try closing one eye and see if the problem continues. If it does, the prism is not likely the issue. I enabled BC this afternoon and drove with one eye open and then the other and BC did not drop.

I'm assuming you are very nearsighted. (Can't see far without glasses). There is something called the base curve of the glasses. This is the front curve and is dependent on the prescription but can be different depending on the manufacturer of the lens. Have your eye care provider check it using something called a lens clock to see if they are different.

Will have the give the one eye open a try. You are correct on the very nearsighted. I think I’ve made it to -8.5 now…wooo.

A friend test drove my Mach E and had the same problem. I’m not sure what it was about his glasses but the eye nanny kept bugging him too.

I use blue mirror sunglasses during the day and those don't seem to cause the cameras any issues. Maybe the infrared doesn't get reflected as much as the visible spectrum.

Hello OP, I'm getting the exact same issue with BC as yours, except mine is worse that I sometimes even get the warnings inside some tunnels.
Did you manage to find a cure or workaround for the problem?

At night the best I can do is try to hold my eyes open as wide as possible. Have thought about taping my eyelids open to see if that helps.

During the day if I wear shades it stays on most the time.

Ive never experienced this issue. At night I wear prescription Oakleys with a super thin lens for nearsightedness.
