I appreciate that- from a financial side I get it. What I’m trying to figure out is the difference between having the extended range battery and the normal range. Is the difference going to be to significant? I am winter driving, I didn’t precondition before leaving but I had to stop and put a charge on to make sure I got there ok, and then to get home. THEN, on the way home, traffic got pretty tied up due to white out conditions and I kind of white knuckled it hoping to make it to the next rest stop with only 25 miles of range left. Know what I mean? I guess I had quite a bit more range in my Tesla because it was never an issue and I was able to get back and forth in the winter and I just never even thought about it. But this past weekend, in a relatively short trip (79 miles each way) I had to charge up (not fully) 3 times- then it got a bit scary looking at that range dropping while traffic and snow conditions slowed us down to the 20’s in speed. Will I get like 50 more miles on a charge than I do now (with the extended vs the regular battery?). I do realize that it will vary based on my driving habits but across the board are there any expectations of, say, one would normally get an extra 40-60 miles on a charge? Thank You! ?If I were you, I'd first sit down with a calculator, and run the numbers on each potential scenario you are considering, to see where you stand financially with each one. Then at that point, it may be easier to make a decision. Or you can just say F' it, and do whatever you want. But ultimately, no one can decide what's better for you, than you. So, put your pants on, and make a decision. You have all the information you need. ?
