If I were you, I'd first sit down with a calculator, and run the numbers on each potential scenario you are considering, to see where you stand financially with each one. Then at that point, it may be easier to make a decision. Or you can just say F' it, and do whatever you want. But ultimately, no one can decide what's better for you, than you. So, put your pants on, and make a decision. You have all the information you need. ?
I appreciate that- from a financial side I get it. What I’m trying to figure out is the difference between having the extended range battery and the normal range. Is the difference going to be to significant? I am winter driving, I didn’t precondition before leaving but I had to stop and put a charge on to make sure I got there ok, and then to get home. THEN, on the way home, traffic got pretty tied up due to white out conditions and I kind of white knuckled it hoping to make it to the next rest stop with only 25 miles of range left. Know what I mean? I guess I had quite a bit more range in my Tesla because it was never an issue and I was able to get back and forth in the winter and I just never even thought about it. But this past weekend, in a relatively short trip (79 miles each way) I had to charge up (not fully) 3 times- then it got a bit scary looking at that range dropping while traffic and snow conditions slowed us down to the 20’s in speed. Will I get like 50 more miles on a charge than I do now (with the extended vs the regular battery?). I do realize that it will vary based on my driving habits but across the board are there any expectations of, say, one would normally get an extra 40-60 miles on a charge? Thank You! ?

Thank you! I appreciate it. I don’t know what to do. I mean I still have it but so many people have told me that I WAY overpaid for it. It’s a 2022 with 33k miles on it and I paid 32,998 (33k) for it.
I’ve been looking around for other ones - one with and extended battery. CarMax will cut me a check back for what I paid for the car. What’s really weird though is that I see ALL of the ext batteries are all 91kwh but when I see the window stickers, some show the ext battery cost of 3k, then I’ve seen 5k and I’ve seen 7k. Any idea why they are priced like that? It’s all the same equipment, right?
Ford repriced the battery multiple times over the years. It's been 3k for a while now, but as you said it's the same one.

Blizzard conditions will suck the range out of any EV, Tesla or Ford. There is a lot more energy used pushing through the snow and wind than on a clear winter day driving on plowed roads. I recently did a comparison of the Mach-E to the Model Y (big packs) and they are virtually the same range. Tesla gets only a couple more miles. So the Tesla is not magically way better and would fare about the same as the Mach-E in bad conditions. You're just hyper focused on the range right now.

The extended range pack Mach-E is about 30% larger than the standard range. You can do the math on the range, or plan routes in ABRP with different EVs and pack sizes for comparison.

Thank you so much!! It’s all kind of falling together now… when we went in for the first time to see the car, the little panel on the front passenger side bumper was open. I figured someone had hit it or maybe it got knocked open in the car wash.

Well (as you know), that’s the access for the 12 volt jumper cables. Clearly they had to jump the car. And the past couple of days when I went to start it, it would click-click, like when the battery is dead in a gasser. That 12 volt battery (I must assume) starts the motor? It was really weird to hear that sound.

But it was just confirmed that CarMax did not replace the battery (even after their 125 point inspection). So, I’m taking it back tomorrow and getting my money back. The crap of it is that I spent money to have the car shipped in (fortunately only 200 bucks, but it’s still 200 down the drain). And now I lose my tax advantage that I had on my trade in. They will cut me a check tomorrow and I’m walking far far away. In the meantime, might you please share the website that you use to check the vin numbers and I’ll see if I can get a script and run the next car that I’m looking at, or is it quite pricey? Is it something I can run a couple on and then cancel my script at the end of the month or does one have to buy a full year? I’d love to have that information. I’m looking kind of all around the north east but I found one in GA that I’d like to run. After these losses, I don’t have the money to ship something from AZ or CA. But I’d be interested in knowing the name of the site you use. Are you a dealer? Must one be a dealer? I no longer have a dealer’s license but I have access to one. And of course, about a year ago, when I thought I was done buying cars for a while, I cancelled my Mannheim script - but with the internet and all of the tools that are now available, the deals that used to come at auction are now few and far between. Thank you again for running that for me! And thank you in advance if you can share the website, I’d appreciate it! I appreciate your help- you helped me decide that this isn’t the car for my daughter. I think it’s a dud. I’m trying to find and ext range now but I’d be very interested in running the vin on prospects so I don’t run into the same issue. It’s a bummer bc there are 2 red ones (2023’s) pretty local, one with 8k miles, the other with 12k miles and they look to be in mint shape but my daughter won’t do red. Bummer. Anyway. Thank you again for you help ?!!! Sorry about the lack of paragraphs, but every time I try to make one, it drops me off the page. Thanks again!!!
I love my '22 extended range Rapid Red MME with light interior. But everyone has their preference :)

My '22 Extended range shows around 315miles when fully charged. I live in Texas so I will always get more from my battery(than cities with lots of freezing temps) since we don't have cold weather very often. I would never buy anything other than extended range but that's just me. Good luck!

Return the standard range. If you have issues now you will keep having issues. ER cars still are not stellar from range. I have an ID.4 now and that is a little better than my old mach-e. If you care about range buy a model 3

I just bought my '22 with the extended range pack, so I don't have a lot of experience with this car, but here's a data point for you.

FWIW...
I calculated my full range for today at ~180.

That's based on today's driving only, which was a 34 mile roundtrip, in 20 degree weather, and most of those 34 miles were interstate with speeds of 70-80, the other ~10 were roads at 45-50. That's with no warm up or preconditioning, the car sat for 3-4 hours before the return trip, and I used climate control the entire trip.

I can agree to this being accurate

EVs can lose up to 50% range in cold weather. Unlike Tesla, Ford's range display tries to be accurate and actually decreases with colder temps. A standard range Mach-E will have an actual range of about 100-150 miles in cold conditions.

Also, the range display is not an accurate indication of battery health. Send me your VIN for a check if you're still concerned.

To avoid range loss, remember to plug in nightly and set a departure time before a long trip. This will warm up the battery and preserve range.

The pedestrian alert sound volume is normal and meets federal standards for decibel level. It might seem loud in a garage but that's normal.
Speaking of the 12 volt, Lee would you mind taking a look at mine? Got my 2022 in May 2022. It's hot 43K on it. I'm thinking my 12 volt is probably on the way out. I'll PM you my VIN again (may have already done it in the past ?).
