Might be a free year and a zero cost purchase, but they still get your credit card number and information if they didn't have it already.
My guess is they may not tell the day it expires in a year and only begin charging you monthly.
I did get it as well, but set a reminder in my calendar to cancel the day before it runs out next year.
They've had my credit card information for the last three years in order to pay for charging. So what's the difference?

They're not going to just automatically start charging you for a monthly amount without your knowledge.

I got an email the other day reminding me that my 3 year trial on my Lightning was going to run out in four months and that I needed to select an option to renew or not....

That's when I found the 'one year at 0$' option in FordPass. It will automatically roll over on my expiration date this June and give me another year.

I'm pretty sure you'll get plenty of advance notification when it's time to renew.

2021 job 1 here. I got the 3 years for $600 option a few years back which expires on Jan 1,2027. It gives renewal for $250/year but it's unclear if I still have the $600 for 3 years option at renewal time.

Sorry if this is a dupe, I looked, really, but...
I just extended my BlueCruise trial for a year, for free. I bought two years ago and my three year trial was set to expire 2/26. But I went to the connected services in Ford Pass and it let me extend it a year. I'd seen others mention they got this offer, but I thought it had been for folks with an expired or shorter trial.

Well dang, my trial ended but I don’t see that offer …

I'm not clear who is getting the free offer and who isn't. The SO, who bought in November, has her BC expiring at the end of this month and she's just being offered the paid extension.

Did your offer look like this? Other than this implied offer of a price choice of 0 annually, I don’t have an official offer,

Yes for 22 MME. 24 F150 does not have the last offer line. I think Ford is being nice to offer a one year complimentary BC for MME. I can only hope that the same offer will be extended to F150 in the near future.

Not me. Mine expired in October. Checked it out and still required $495.

I see. Thanks for the explanation.
I got 3 years of BlueCruise with my Job 2 2021, which expired in July 2024. I have not gotten an offer for a free year. So, there seems to be some other variable, or maybe it's randomish?

Mine is the same for my job 1 2021. My 3 year $600 expires Jan 2027.

But then I already got a free year of BC because of how long it took for the BC 1.0 took to be deployed via OTA. 21 job 1 was delivered before BC 1.0 was available, had to be installed later. As a thank you for waiting Ford gave me a free year of BC.

I don’t see the option.
Newer model? Only the 3 month trial that expired?

I think it's only for those who are still in the 3 year trial period. Since you have a 21 and out of the 3 years, you probably have an offer for $600 for 3 years that most of us can't get.

This seems intended for '22/'23 model owners who had the 3-yr plan baked in, and possibly for '21 model cars where the owners have been maintaining a continuous BC subscription.

If I were to further speculate, I'd say I believe the reasoning behind it was the almost a year's delay in rolling out the BC 1.3/4 updates to the fleet of established users with current subscriptions. So the extra year would make up for that I'm guessing. Seems strange though that there's no official word from the headshed on the 5W's of this. ?‍♂

Since 23.5 and newer all had only a 90 day trial at sale time, and came with functional BC 1.2/3 from the plant, it makes sense that they are not being offered a freebie year.
