Curious problem with my new automatic garage door opener remote. My 24 Premium Mach-e windshield totallyblocks the signal but it works through the panoramic roof glass or the side windows (most of the time.) A little annoying but manageable. Anyone else having this?

Mine works, but try holding behind the dark shaded area around the review mirror. I've just been lazy programming the home link buttons, they're a PIA.

Agree you should program your homelink, there's videos on youtube to walk you through it.

Also if you have trouble CLOSING your garage opener, it may be you have LED lights in your garage opener lights. Some of them interfere with the signal.

These lights specifically do not interfere with the signal: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075B6WD3B/

That's what homelink is for.

As said, program Homelink. Or, aim it through the black areas on either side of the mirror.

Thanks for that! I've been having issues with one of my doors and thought that it was just on it's way out. I never thought that the light bulb change to LED might be the cause.

Thanks everyone. I have done the homelink in the past but not with this car. Was concerned about easier break ins but probably a non-issue.
Also, would have never thougt the darker area around the rear view mirror would be better for the signal, or that an LED bulb could be the culprit (although it does work from non-front windshield angles.
Appreciate your input.

I had no idea this was a thing, but I'll bet that's exactly what's going on for me. Thanks!

it’s in the manual that the shaded area by the mirror is the only part of the windshield that RF signals to pass through. I had to mount the gate pass for our community there along with my EZ-Pass. They’ve worked fine there.

I think of the HomeLink as being more secure than a separate remote. The HomeLink buttons shouldn't work while your key isn't in the car or the car is locked, while the separate remote doesn't have such precautions.

Note that I haven't TESTED this, but it's my understanding. Hopefully someone will correct or corroborate.

Homelink is your friend. Hated my wife's Tesla because I had to pay extra for this shit.

Finding things in the on-line manual is a PITA. I am ordering a paper copy. Thanks for letting me know.
