Misleading... 2023 MMe No foot liftgate, no parking assist... anything else? Any fixes?

You have to try, just for the fun shock factor! First time I tried it was a tight parallel spot on the street with a car full of co-workers, they wanted to see it! I held the button we all screamed in horror the whole time but it worked!

I find it's good in those spaces where you eyeball it and go "maaaaaybe...". It's too slow to use in most normal parking situations.

I don't know what else you would call it other than misrepresenting when the liftgate and parking assist are on the screen, labels and , yes, my wife downloaded and printed the entire user manual which tells you how to use both of them... You aren't a dick either... lol

I bought a 2024 Job 1 MME and was equally dismayed that the foot-activated lift gate operation didn't work, indeed was not even installed. The sticker clearly showed how to operate it! Well, as a retired aerospace Senior Quality Engineer I couldn't stay quiet, so I wrote to Ford (see attached). Later I learned about the non-functional Park Assist button and the non-existent front camera washer. By then I just sighed, feeling disappointed at Ford and thinking they can certainly do better. At least the rear door doesn't fall off mid-drive (reference to Boeing there). There's too many other features to love and, overall, I'm hooked on this car. I hope you will be able to overcome your disappointment.

If you were an engineer, you should be able to figure out how to install the kit with the sensor to make it foot activated. My cousin is a caveman and I got it done.

Cobbler's kids have no shoes? I'm a programmer by profession, but the last thing I'm in a hurry to do when I get home is fix open-source bugs for free I'll use those skills for certain custom solutions around the home, etc., but I don't go at with the same level of dedication that @markboris seems to apply to everything automotive-related!

I purchased a used 2023 MME with the extended battery. All user manuals and stickers show I have foot opening of the rear lift gate but doesn't along with parking assist which Ford shut off. Any other surprised that other owners have found?

Anything else on this car which is misrepresented??

We are disappointed with Ford.

My June 2023 MME GTPE made in Mexico has the foot opening boot feature operating fine. I have not checked the self parking feature. Maybe the right hand drive cars made for export to NZ and Australia are different to the US cars. Very happy with the MME

Same reason that until the 2024 model year the North American MME didn’t even have a threaded receiver for a tow hook in the front bumper. Ford figured they could cheap out on us. ??

So, because.

Ford finally fixed the embossed graphic for the 2024 Job2 cars. Mine came with a blank plate where the left side lift gate switch should reside. I put in a switch and the plate with the embossed instructions since I wanted that second lift gate switch. ?‍?

was the wiring there for that or did you have to wire that yourself? any instructions and part numbers for it?

I'm sure you're right, they went cheap on the NAM market cars. But, why? Doesn't' seem like there could be enough money in it to justify the decisions. Baffles me.

North America is a big market. If they can save $2 per car on the front bumper and $15 per car on the cargo rings, that becomes real money. ?‍?
