My grandparents (both sides of the family) lived through the depression, they did not understand "fancy" as they were grateful to just eat. These are special occasion mats. The special occasion being a long drive in good weather. Like the fancy soap at your grandma’s house.
These are the thickest, plushest carpeted mats I know of and have been using them in my vehicles since 2002. Lloyd LUXE carpet mats. They are NOT cheap but they last a really long time (lifetime warranty). I had a set in my 2007 F-150 and by the time it had 270K miles, the drivers mat was showing some wear. I bought a complete set for my 2021 Mach-E in February of '21 and it was one of the few things I kept from that car when I traded it in for my '24. You will not be disappointed.Hey, I think I want to get some thick shag carpet floor mats. The kind you can curl your toes in like Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Anyone have a favorite brand? My seats are the light gray color. Thanks.
If you have a front load washer, they are easily cleaned. I wash mine about every 3-6 months depending on how dirty they get.Can whomever is responsible for cleaning the mats talk you out of this?

Here is a bit more info.... Their ULTIMAT is one down from the LUXE series and their most popular. It is still a great mat but the carpet is not as dense or thick. It comes in many different colors with different color bindings if you are looking for something special. However if you want the most luxurious mat, get the LUXE. Unfortunately it only comes in 11 colors but I am willing to bet you are going to go with one that closely matches the OEM carpet color. In that case, the LUXE mats are available in Black and Ebony. Do not get the black as it is darker than the Mach-E carpet. Ebony is a closer match. Thanks! I appreciate the information.

Same here. I never take the OEM mats out of their plastic wrap. They are stored and go back in the car when I get rid of it.You’re going to make me shop for carpet mats now, Mark aren’t you? I’ve never used the I’m carpet mats in any vehicle I owned since 2002. The only thing I do with the mats is install them on the way back to the dealership to trade the vehicle back in.

I've never ordered the premium binding on their carpets. The standard bindings it comes with is cloth to match the carpet while the premium is vinyl. While it may look cool to have a separate material (vinyl) that has a slight gloss to it framing the mat, that doesn't interest me.Thanks @markboris ! I had a full set of these on Tesla and was thinking this morning on the way to work how much I miss them. Glad I checked here, as I probably would have ordered black without thinking about it.
Any thoughts on the Premium Binding before I order my ebony mats? I'm fairly certain I didn't do that on my Tesla set.
Too bad they don't offer genuine saskatchewan seal skin bindings! ?
Happy to hear you really like these mats Brian. I've been using them since 2007 in my vehicles and they really are the best. Not sure if you saw in one of my above posts but once a year, I clean them in my washer (front load only). I use warm water and regular laundry detergent (one pod). Do not put them in the dryer. Let them air dry for about 24 hours and they are like new.Update: I bought the LUXE mats in Ebony recommended above. Still amazing. I vacuum them and or shake them out as needed. No problems with them and they do feel nice with your shoes off. Highly recommend them! I would have to make my own shag carpet ones to get any better.
