I let my my paid subscription expire 3 months ago because it was not updated to show Tesla charging stations. Can anyone confirm if the Tesla charging stations are now included and if so do they pre condition the battery when selected as a destination?

It's absolutely insane to me that they put charging stations (and by association, preconditioning) behind a paywall.
Preconditioning is available with no connected service or paywall required when using Google Maps EV Routing for Android Auto (with Software Update 10.1.0 or higher, but there's no paywall for that either).

If it’s like us Eurotards, then no, Tesla chargers are still not visible. It’s beyond stupid, as 80%+ of Tesla’s chargers in Europe are open for everyone. But fear not, instead of using the last year to give us a functional nav, what about fu*k you, here’s karaoke?!

It's almost like they don't want people to pay for Ford Navigation. I for one won't be.

Of course my 2022 Lightning still doesn't do any preconditioning on the way to any charger, never has...

I wish Waze was also updated to permit such a connection to the car and also display the remaining distance to the destination In the dash.

SOL until Ford changes how they do preconditioning. They currently ask for positioning so they can calculate when to start precon. Apple views passing location along as a privacy issue. If Ford asks for an ETA to destination and there's some sort of metadata in the destination that indicates it as a DCFC (without any location data), Apple can pass that along and Ford can calculate when to precon off of that. ?‍♂?

I know. But Ford has decided to not put this information in the built in Nav for non-subscribers (or even for subscribers of previous model years, IIRC). In my opinion, that sucks big time. ?

Honestly I don't care all that much about this particular feature. Yes it's a royal PITA to have to search through multiple apps to find a Tesla changer and honestly these days I'm seriously disinclined to use them anyway. But I do believe in equity, and this just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

If Ford were to announce that there's a system limitation that prevents model years earlier than the 2025s from having Tesla chargers in the built-in Nav, I'd not love it, but I'd totally understand. But it seems that for, reasons, Ford has decided to limit its availability to only the most recent models. Yes the Ford Public Charging app has it, but its used doesn't result in pre-conditioning.

And yes, I know Apple is keeping Ford from being able to offer pre-conditioning with Apple Maps due to their privacy concerns. Not ideal, but at least there's a reason that sorta kinda holds water. Sorta. (I've negotiated data-sharing agreements with Apple, and I know just how protective they are about "their" data.)

Yeah, but Android holds only 42% of the US cell phone market. Not exactly a work around when it applies to less than half the owners

Ford just needs to add a "precondition now" button. This would satisfy nearly all posted objections. It is not rocket science to estimate your ETA before pressing that button, guys ...
