MERCEDES SUPERCHARGER FAULT

I have attempted to charge my ‘24 MMEGT at the Mercedes Benz Supercharger (400kWh)several times since I purchased the vehicle in April. Each time that I attempt to charge, I receive a “charger fault: see manual” message. I have tried multiple chargers on the property and get the same message. The charge will start, but after a 12 second ramp up it drops to zero and prompts to remove the charger. Any recommendations?

Try another CCS charger. If EA works, or Tesla works with an adapter, then the issue is that location of the Mercedes chargers. I assume you already checked PlugShare to see if others are having issues there...

I had a similar issue with an IONNA site. IONNA responded to my report referencing TSB 24-2445.
They also said they were working on a solution on their side.

Key here is that Mercedes HPC is using the same Alpitronics units as IONNA.

I am not sure this is the actual solution, even for my car, but it is something to try.

@YeOldeTraveller and @Driii96 - Are you turning the vehicle off before plugging in and starting the session? For best results with your vehicles and this type of charger, leave the vehicle on before starting the session. If you do get an error immediately after starting the session, turn the vehicle off, back on, and try again.

Never heard this one. Will need to try it on a few of the EA chargers that ALWAYS fail for me.

New one for me as well.
I have successfully charged at IONNA and MB HPC, but I cannot say for sure if the car was on or off.
The IONNA site that failed was the first time that I was not able to charge at all. (No issue as there was an EA and a Tesla site 2 miles away.)

I tried the MB at a Buc-ee’s and it wouldn’t even start connecting. Went another mile down 85? (Could be 95 or 65, GA or MS) to find a better charger I won’t be trying that one again.

Which location? Some have Alpitronic and some have ChargePoint hardware. The steps above to ensure your Mustang Mach-E is on before plugging in is only applicable to the Alpitronic hardware.

My understanding is Ionna and MB use Alpitronic dispenser/chargers. This is an FAQ from Ionna FWIW.

For the best charging results, here are IONNA's recommendations...

1. Begin all charging sessions with your car in 'Accessory Mode' (Press the Stop/Start without depressing the brake)
2. If you experience an initially successful charge followed by an unexpected error, try the age old trick. Turn the car off, then back in Accessory Mode, and initiate a brand new charging session
3. If you continue to experience issues, please call IONNA Customer Service for additional assistance
