Here is a rough idea of the mileage added versus the charge current available... I think it's a little optimistic (I thought 32A gives 21 miles/hour of charging). Also, the rate is NOT constant. It slows down as the battery approaches 90-100%, so it's not a linear calculation! The Ford Mobile Charger that used to be supplied with the car was limited to 32A and it was adequate for me charging overnight. But your lifestyle may be different. I have a Grizz-le now that is set at 40A for my 50A circuit. You would be limited to 24A on a 30A circuit.

That is no longer the case for those of us with Mustang Mach-e's that got hit with the charging port melting software that slowed it down. For us it now does not matter if it is at 6.5 kw charger a 8.2 kw charger or a 10 kw charger it will only do 32 amps 6.5 to 7 kw.

Fords way of saying thankyou for your support and your early adoption.

It sounds like this is the last time you will purchase the first model year of a completely new type of vehicle with a whole new drive train. I waited a couple of years and have had no recalls or problems. I haven't taken it back to a dealer for any issues or service. Thanks for being a tester.

Mine is a '23 and it does reach 10kW or so without issue. Is this only on earlier years? I did get some kind of charging software update, but it didn't affect my L2 charging at home...

As for the reply above: I used to drive a first year total re-design Escape ("built from the ground up") and had a lot of software issues and noise issues. At that point, I swore never to buy a new model in its release year (or two). So I kind of agree with the gist of that comment, as harsh as it is. My Escape was a 2020 - just before the MME was coming out. I waited until '23 to try the MME...
Regards...

Is that Fords sales pitch we only screwed the early adopters so feel confident about buying one now. I have no problems with the problems of an early addition just a company that will not fix their own mistakes.

To answer your question I will buy a first addition again no problems just not from a company that dumps their mistakes on the customer and does not own up to them. It happened with the HVJB and the melting charging ports. Never know a company until you have problems sounds like you do not know ford yet.

Since this thread is about a year old, you’ve likely already signed your lease and picked up the car by now or at least found a way to make things work.

In case you're still looking for a fix, a 100-amp panel can usually handle a throttled charger if you set it up right. I actually dealt with this myself by reaching out to some local guys in my area, Wolf River Electric.

Instead of doing a full (and expensive) panel upgrade, they installed a load management module for me. It’s a much better long-term solution than relying on public charging stations
