At the time of ordering, the Mach-E was the best value for the money. Then again, my criteria was pretty simple: over 300 miles of range and not a Tesla. The "not a Tesla" was mostly about not liking their interior styling choices, plus the lack of a real instrument cluster, and everybody has a Tesla around here. It had less to do with Musk's behavior (though still a factor). Even when I picked the car up 8-months later, it was still the clear winner.

Thankfully in the last 3 years there's a lot more options out there at around the same price point. But nothing so great that I feel that I want to take a giant hit on depreciation. The car does what I need it to do, and the newer offerings out there don't really add anything over what I've got. Maybe slightly faster DC fast charging, which really wasn't an issue this past weekend for a 1000-mile roadtrip (gotta love that NACS to CCS adapter Ford sent me). I don't see any reason to turn the car in next year when my Ford Options is up. I'll refinance the amount due and continue to drive the car. The monthly payment is reasonable and far cheaper than anything I could buy.
Not gonna lie, the Mach E is still a great car. I'm just tired of waiting for it. Plus, Jeep is currently having a sale that brings the Wagoneer S price down very close to that of the Mach E I was looking at. I'll miss the horse jokes in the Mach E if I do decide to give up, but I can drive away with a Wagoneer S today, as opposed to waiting unto maybe late September, after already waiting since February?

Yeah... I took a test drive of a Jeep Wagoneer S today and... damn... I think I liked it better than the Mach E. I got some real thinking I need to do as to whether I'm going with the Jeep and to call my Ford dealer to cancel my Mach E deposit.
There's no wrong answer for you. I suspect the mach-e issue will be resolved soon, as Ford is selling roughly 1,000 per week in the USA. But just because I presume that to be true doesn't make it so.

I keep hearing mixed things. I hear soon, but I also hear late September, so...

I'm hoping for the former, but frankly, wouldn't be surprised at the latter.

I just don't want the Mach-E to suffer a months-long sales crash to zero due to this self-inflicted wound that Ford should've resolved before it got to the point of a recall. A lot of EVs will be sold between now and late September. A few thousand of them should be Mach-Es.

They're in two completely different market segments. Do you favor the form factor of one over the other? Are you planning on doing a lot of off-roading in the Wagoneer? Do you need AWD? Which one is cheaper? I was willing to drive an old 2005 Prius for 8-months while waiting for the Mach-E to come in so I could save $10K.

The official NHTSA recall document targets end of September for remedy available notices to be mailed to existing owners.

If they are producing 2025s at the factory now with the fix already, I would expect the update to be available to dealers shortly, at least for the 2025s. Might take longer to port and test the update for older model years and configurations, but I would think lifting the stop sale would be priority 1.

If the stop sale lasts for months, that’s going to pretty much be the death of the Mach-E in the US as I don’t think they would be able to recover that lost momentum.

Who doesn't shut the car off before opening the door?
Some of my other vehicles don't require a button to be pressed to shut off - sometimes I forget the Mach-E does and just open the door, then remember to shut down.

AWD is something I want and was getting in the Mach E anyway.

Form factor is close enough for both, though the extra cargo capacity in the Wagoneer is nice and it's one reason why I was upgrading from my current car.

The Mach E Premium is cheaper, but not by much with Jeep's current sale (and I can afford the bit extra).

Really, I was considering the Wagoneer back when I started looking at the Mach E this past winter, but couldn't find any dealers with one in stock at the time.

Yep, that's the fear. I hope you're right about the stop sale being lifted soon. I have no children and I now know to be careful when I take the cats to the vet, so I can wait for the recall solution myself.

As we all await the fix, here is another way to be proactive....if you text this number, the Ford staff behind it can give you real time data on your 12V. If you have a 2-3 year old car, might be good to check in.

Here's the number: 734-892-0892
wait.... what?

whose number is this / where did you get it? what are we supposed to text this number, have other people tried this?

People on this forum are rather skeptical about timelines. Sometimes that's justified, other times not. Ford usually doesn't have 1000 cars a week piling up that can't be sold either. Nobody here has a crystal ball; whatever decision you make is going to be your choice alone, for better or worse.

It's a Ford customer service line that you can text, with live rep's that can access the health of your 12V, along with other services. Paranoid much? ?

I have Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) connected to Car Scanner for iOS and it says my 12v is 80% charged.
