Not gonna lie, the Mach E is still a great car. I'm just tired of waiting for it. Plus, Jeep is currently having a sale that brings the Wagoneer S price down very close to that of the Mach E I was looking at. I'll miss the horse jokes in the Mach E if I do decide to give up, but I can drive away with a Wagoneer S today, as opposed to waiting unto maybe late September, after already waiting since February? At the time of ordering, the Mach-E was the best value for the money. Then again, my criteria was pretty simple: over 300 miles of range and not a Tesla. The "not a Tesla" was mostly about not liking their interior styling choices, plus the lack of a real instrument cluster, and everybody has a Tesla around here. It had less to do with Musk's behavior (though still a factor). Even when I picked the car up 8-months later, it was still the clear winner.
Thankfully in the last 3 years there's a lot more options out there at around the same price point. But nothing so great that I feel that I want to take a giant hit on depreciation. The car does what I need it to do, and the newer offerings out there don't really add anything over what I've got. Maybe slightly faster DC fast charging, which really wasn't an issue this past weekend for a 1000-mile roadtrip (gotta love that NACS to CCS adapter Ford sent me). I don't see any reason to turn the car in next year when my Ford Options is up. I'll refinance the amount due and continue to drive the car. The monthly payment is reasonable and far cheaper than anything I could buy.
