There were no dealer stock orders, everyone ordered and dealer allocated a vehicle, as I recall. No dealers had vehicles on the lot.
Actually, there were some Those were the orders abandoned by the people that ordered them. In my case, I initially ordered a premium, but when Ford offered a 2nd chance to get 1st Edition, I switched. My original order became dealer stock.

Worst part of a dead battery is not being locked out, which is better than being locked in! Only problem is that you can't get to the manual frunk release. So what? Use whatever you intend to jump the battery with to use the 12 volt frunk release.
Worst part is having to disassemble most of the inside of the frunk just to get at the battery to jump it.
More stupid design by Ford, why not instead put 12 volt battery terminals behind the charging door to jump in case of a dead battery? With plastic covers to protect them when not in use.

Given this design , seems like the prudent approach is to just change the 12v every three years as preventative maintenance.
I've always done that, but I have had some die prematurely.

And I thought putting the 12 volt battery under the spare tire of my Escape PHEV was bad!

Is the battery some proprietary size, or is it something that you could get a better AGM replacement for?

I have Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) connected to Car Scanner for iOS and it says my 12v is 80% charged.
Just remember that SoC does not equal State of Health. ??

The battery is a more ore less standard Ford sized battery, but there are no aftermarket battery companies currently manufacturing a battery to that set of dimensions. ?‍♂?

I read that as "we know what we need to do, but have to program it, test it, ensure it works nice with all years of Mach-Es, ..." Hopefully you are right, but if I had one on order I would start making contingency plans.
“Contingency plans “ yes! I would run as far away from a Ford dealer as I could and never look back. As much as I like my Mach e my wife and I wish we had never leased it and can’t wait for 39 months to pass.

As much as you like it you can't wait for the lease to expire? That really makes no sense at all.

I wonder how they came up with 12 minutes? It seems like an oddly specific number? Not 10, not 15, but 12?
It’s a nice round dozen, unless you’re a baker?

Yes, that sounds good, but look at wife's 2018 PHEV that needed it's 12V replacement needed 8 years later!

Gotta love that about PHEVs not having to crank 12V to start the ICE engine....

Since she drives it purely on EV daily and hardly ever the engine would start....

Nice. Same applies to most hybrids and all total electric vehicles. What brand PHEV do you have?
It already is an AGM H3 battery
Those are good and should last a while, I had to put one in my 2021 Escape PHEV to get rid of weird problems it was having. Did the trick!
