But comparing 50k cars still on dealer lots to a 15 year old iPhone that literally received updates for longer than the Mach E has been out is a choice.
Let's see, 15 years ago:
Apple came out with the iPhone 4 in June 2010.
The iPhone 4 was limited to iOS 7, and was last updated June 2014.
That's 4 years.

The first customer deliveries of the Mach E were in December 2020.
That's 4 years, 6 months.

Your statement is literally incorrect.

And 24’s are still in the lot right now as brand new. And have not received 4 years of BC updates.

But wooo because a $199 phone lasted slightly less your happy.

And did the iPhone from 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 also lose support in 2014?

Maybe when a car cost as little as cell phone this argument would make more sense. Hell they are charging people more for BC for 3 years as an option than multiple iPhones.

There also people that paid Tesla $15000 for “Full Self Driving” years ago that have an obsolete car now.

Technology advances and old hardware will get left behind and become obsolete at some point. That’s just a fact. Yes it sucks if you just paid for the old one and something new and better comes out shortly after. But there’s no way around that. If you always want the latest and greatest then you should do a 2-3 year lease.

What a joke and I’m not sure why Ford doesn’t do better.
So, you think Ford should upgrade the hardware in older cars to provide them with a newer version of a feature the older cars may already have?

From the time of launch until your iPhone becomes obsolete e-waste, there's zero guarantee you'll get any features launched with newer model iPhones. You might, and you might not. Apple stops updating older iPhones around the 5-year mark. After that, they may receive security updates for a year or so. Then they are considered obsolete, and no support is offered.

I can understand BC 1.5 not coming to my 2021, but I'd at least like to see the refresh for the IPC.

If Ford actually had an abundance of parts they could consider providing a limited degree of module upgrades as suggested earlier. The problem is they don’t have an abundance of extra parts and are, in fact, idling factories because of supply constraints. Welcome to 2021 - 2022 redux.

I'm just suggesting an OTA update to provide similar graphics. I don't know the processing requirements, so that could be a limiting factor.

A one year lease given, once again 24’s are still being sold.

But also literally all of our cars have the capability to do everything present in 1.5.

You guys roll over way to easy for corporate speak.

Your car can detect speed of vehicle in front of you, can detect that a lane change is possible, can suggest you make a lane change.

There is nothing in 1.5 it can’t do already.

Honestly most people don’t care. How many people are even paying for BC beyond the trial other than maybe a month here and there? Most owners are not.

If someone is car shopping and they value BC1.5 they can just buy a 2025 instead of a 2024 on the lot. Someone who doesn’t care and wants to save can buy a leftover 2024.

IMO all these features beyond basic L2 ADAS (ACC and lane centering) are just gimmicks anyways until we reach full L3 autonomy where no driver attention or intervention is required. And current hardware will never be L3 capable anyways.

If I still need to pay attention and monitor the car and its surroundings anyways, resting my hand on the wheel is not a bother. Changing lanes is not a bother, whether fully automatic, fully manual or something in between.

Face it. Your analogy doesn’t hold water. I just got an update a week ago today — on my 4 year old Mach E!

Confused… my 24 GTE came with BC 1.3 installed. Why isn’t it installed on your 24?

Don't expect anything better from ford. They are not teslas so software updates is how Android phones used to be like

I appreciate that Ford is truthful.

That’s what they said about 1.3 as well.
BC 1.4 in the Mach-E did all the same functional things as 1.3. But 1.4 does them A LOT better. The lane stability in 1.3 is awful compared to 1.4, like really bad. BC 1.4 was super rock solid in the lane and 1.3 weaves back and forth.

Ford, I want 1.4. back!!

Back? When did anyone get 1.4 in a Mach E?
