Thank you. Is that true regardless of the drive mode?

Do you think it is because of electronic programming changes or mechanical differences?
I can really only vouch for Unbridled, I never intentionally drove the 2021 outside of Unbridled Other than when I was first figuring the car out. I never intentionally drive the 2024 outside of Unbridled. Since the 2024 uses the same springs as the 2021, it’s got to be a VDM software change. I don’t believe that any suspension bushings were revised (possible, but not likely since it doesn’t seem to have any more deflection steer). ??

My one thing I consistently grumble about is that there isn’t a trunk button inside, at least that I can find or have noticed.
<SNIP>
That’s something we have been asking for since 2021. A bunch of us have even taken matters into our own paws and put in a button from a 2020 Exploder and wiring. ??

Did you noticed it in the vehicle settings?

I wish they would put it at the top of screen. It would only show up while in park. Ok Ford, ask your programmer to do this.

Try turning on the A/C and set to MAX AC.

Thanks for the feedback. I am beginning to think it is an issue with my car but the dealership claims there is nothing wrong.

LFP vs. NMC battery. For the extended range, it is still NMC, so no change for me in charge patterns, but the standard range is LFP as I understand it.

...
By way of introduction: I'm a long-time ICE addict and now own (only) 4 of them, including a '19 Bullitt. I've been EV-curious for a while and, when picking up my wife who left her Fusion at a dealer I, well, long story short drove home in a MME Premium in Magenta (the color sold it). Based on what I'd read--after the fact of buying--I expected an LFP but, according to the sticker it has an NMC. This is a RWD only, supposedly 'standard range' car; available miles shows about 264 with 81% charge.

I can only guess Ford decided maintaining two different battery inventories wasn't worth the trouble? I haven't seen this info anywhere online.

Edit: Also, no Magneride, apparently (my Bullitt has it).

Congrats on your new MME. The 73KWh battery is the standard range battery, so it's LFP. The 88KWh battery is the extended range battery, so it's NCM. Magneride is only standard on the GT from 2024-onward and not available on any other model. Prior to 2024 the GT-Performance Edition was the only model with Magneride (the GT did not have it). ??

Thanks for the comparison.

I am looking at a '25 Rally now - hoping to capture the $7500 tax credit before it expires...
Is there tax credit to capture? I thought Mach E does not qualify?

Right. Point is, I was expecting an LFP battery since I only bought a 'Premium,' which appears to be a 'Select' model with interior/trim package. There was a MME-X on the lot--which I presume is for 'extended range'--but this will be a mostly 'around town' car and I wasn't going to spring for the bigger battery ($8-10K IIRC). But, unless the window sticker is lying, I got a (somewhat) extended range (88KW), hence NMC battery (again: see sticker). Or, have the 'Premium' models always gotten an NMC?

Yes, I bought the car on impulse and didn't do my homework but I'd been thinking about dipping my toes in electric for quite a while and, well, I'm not regretful (and I wouldn't touch a Tesla or import--that's just me). Afterwards, everything I read said only the 'X' and, presumably, the GTs got ER NMC batteries. I was actually happy thinking I got an LFP, since they supposedly last longer, but I'm OK with the NMC since I'll likely trade the car in in a few years as the tech improves.

Standard range battery is LFP. Extended range battery is NCM. Selects and Premiums can have either battery type, it’s not related to trim. GT‘s need the bigger battery for horsepower, so they all have the extended battery.

Since you have the extended NCM battery, the rule is to only charge it to 90% everyday, 100% for trips. You essentially got the long range model.

Also, I hope you didn’t pay extra for the lifetime oil changes. :D

Thanks. So, it's a crapshoot which battery you get if you buy a Premium or Select? I think I'd be pissed if I got a lower-range LFP, though they do supposedly last longer.

I've been reading/watching everything I can, and most, including Ford, say 80% for everyday charging (though a lesser charge may prolong battery life). Also, my local utility offers a discount for off-peak charging, but it wasn't until I signed-up I discovered a $32/mo 'flat rate' (surcharge). I'm getting the feeling there's still some chicanery going on in the EV arena.

Just like ICE vehicles with different size engines, there are a couple options to choose from in terms of battery size and RWD vs. AWD. Depends what you're looking for. 80% is better than 90% for daily charging if that's enough for you, yes.

You might want to do a cost analysis on how much kWh you'll use for charging the car each month, how much that will cost, and whether switching to a different rate plan will save you money or not. If you don't drive the car enough, in some cases it can cost you more money to switch to time of use. It's also highly regional. You're in California with very high energy costs compared to the rest of the country.

Leases still qualifies and FMC has been giving between $6500 and $7500 as a cap cost reduction depending on where you are located.
