I am sure this topic has been discussed before but I need some guidance regarding Rally Springs. I just received
EBCH-E10-35-054-03-22 Eibach Eibach Pro-Kit Black Performance Springs | Set of 4 Springs (21-25 Ford Mustang) 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E. There information states that it will improve the ride quality, especially over rough highways and bumps. However, my brother- in - law who has been in the tire and suspension business for years says just the opposite. First, it will lower the car somewhat and instead of improving the ride quality it will actually feel the bumps more. So, I don’t know what to do. The springs costs $390.00.If I return them there is a 15% restocking fee and I’m sure I will have to pay for FedEx return shipping to boot. Now, to have the springs installed is not a cheap process. Being that the original springs have to be removed from the struts and new springs installed which adds to labor costs. Estimated cost $1200 and 6 to 8 hours labor. I guess I am asking is it worth the cost not really knowing what the results will be. I’m just looking for a little better ride on rough highways.

Hi Fred, you might not be aware but there are several threads with many pages about this exact topic. Quite a few of us here on this forum have changed springs on our cars (including me) over the last four years.

If you want a smoother ride, going with the Ford OEM Rally springs is the way to go. They have a lower spring rate (softer) and taller providing more suspension travel. I have personally installed these springs in 3 Mach-E's and am doing another one this Friday. I would also recommend installing the Eibach anti-sway bars as they will further smooth out the ride although not as much as the Rally springs will.

The reason the Eibach springs soften the ride over the OEM springs is because they are progressive and not linear. Your brother in law probably does not know this about the springs. Progressive springs will give a softer ride even though it will lower the car but the particular spring set you chose from Eibach is not the one you should be installing if you are looking for a smoother ride. You should choose the one for the GT.

Again, if you want to improve the ride of your car, install the Ford OEM Rally springs, Eibach anit-sway bars and when it is time for new tires, go with a set that is taller sidewall which will give you a softer ride and will also have a higher load rating so you can run the tires at a lower pressure.

will you be able to come to NorCal ford EV meetup at Tracy on July 27?
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/norcal-ford-ev-meetup-july-27-10-a-m.47149/

if yes than you could ride on my CaliRoute 1 and see the difference. I plan to have Rally springs installed by that time, thanks to Mark.

Thanks but not really. I only know some things. There are many here that know much more than I do. Lee (Mach-Lee) for instance. ?

Thank you so much for your advice. I purchased the springs directly from Fitment industrial for $355 plus tax. Then on Amazon today they are selling the exact same springs for $151.

Sorry to bother you again. Do you have any idea the Ford part number is for their OEM rally springs. I searched ford parts .com and have no idea what I’m exactly looking for. Thanks

Ford OEM Rally springs:
RK9Z-5310-A (Front) Approx $86 each
RK9Z-5560-B (Rear) Approx $ 89 each

Many places online you can purchase them at. I usually use https://www.tascaparts.com/

These are the Eibach sway bars:

I just had what Mark Boris is suggesting done to my 2021 AWD premium, and it was worth it. Follow his guidance. You won't be led astray. Go with Rally springs and Eibach bars at the same time.

A couple of years ago when I got my Eibach bars, I saw that Discount Tire had them listed on eBay. I put them on my watch list and a week or so later received a discount offer from them. You might want to see if they’re still doing that. ??

On Eibach's website, the bars were $100 off earlier this month for like a week or two but now back up to MSRP. A few here were able to get then at the discounted price.

BTW, I put the Eibach progressive lowering springs on my 22 Premium ER 4X...it helped and I think the Rally springs will help more. What my wife thought helped more than anything was to change the tires from 225/55/19 OEM to 245/55/19 Pirelli Scorpion AS. Softer tires and higher load rating so I can run them at 33psi. Just lucky for me I got them at Quick Lane in Portland OR(no sales tax) a few months ago and didn't cost me anything. They were having a 4 for 3 sale, and a $125 rebate, and I sold the old tires for $140 (only 7K miles) and I had $500 credit at Ford since they did repairs when our car was rear ended last year.

Yes they are 3% bigger diameter but I have not heard any rubbing even with the car lowered. But I also gained 8% sidewall height!

Thanks again Mark for your help
