Coming out of Home Depot today I spotted someone trying to get into my trunk.
I called out to him, try the next one over.
I did take the park one spot close to the shop next to a similar coloured Mach-E to see if I would confuse them.

They can't figure out how to open the door
problem is the 12V battery, the accomplice gets locked in the back seat and can't get out, since the thief with brains is outside and accidentally closed the front door without noticing the 12V battery warning.

Ya know, the cars don't suck. They're actually pretty great. It's the owner of the company that is so intolerable that it caused us to ditch ours and buy our MME GT. And we love it!
I've almost stopped muttering 'f'n Nazi' every time I see one. Almost.

I think one of the big reasons that the MME (and the Teslas) are so low on the list of most stolen cars is the fact that a significant percentage of EV owners park in the garage to charge. I read something about that once, that EVs have a higher percentage of indoor storage than pretty much all of the mass produced vehicles (except maybe Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, McLaren, etc., assuming you consider those to be "mass produced")

EDIT: I just read the original article, which stated: "As past HLDI studies have noted, electric vehicles are likely to be garaged or parked near buildings to facilitate charging, making them less attractive to thieves."

Likely true for the Mach-E, but then, the most stolen car is the Camaro ZL1 and I doubt many of those are parked on the street...

Do these numbers include Camaros stolen by 16 year old sons? Because I know which car I would rather joy ride in.
