There more I look at this, the more I think a center cap is not going to be an option, in the traditional sense.

A center cap needs to snap into the wheel with a lip on the inside of the hub of the wheel. In this case, there is no lip as the brake hub fits deep into the wheel's bore. I think a custom cap would have to be created that works with the lug openings in the same way as the Aero cover works. It would need to use the lugs to secure the cap to the wheel

I don't imagine it takes too long for an after market company to notice and come up with something... But I bet it'll be pricey!

I like the look of the covers removed.

In the interim of finding a suitable center cap, I wonder if a round disc can be fashioned to go over the axle spindle held in place by a chrome (or black painted) nut, such as an acorn nut? I just don't know the thread size of that spindle.

I'm stepping up to be a guinea pig! Have a set on order and will report back.
Any update yet?

Job Complete!

The wheel caps suggested by MABachE131 seem to be the ticket:

Today I pulled the wheels off and removed the aero covers. After putting the wheels back on, the plastic center wheel caps proved to be a perfect fit.

The four tabs on the back of each plastic wheel cap have to go into the inner bore of the spindle, denoted by the lip you see inside the wheel center. It does take a bit of effort to get all four tabs in that bore and then push the cap on.

Once on, the round body of the cap will then sit on the ridge of the inner bore. That inner bore is very smooth and it doesn't take much effort to pull the caps off. For security, I suppose I could have put some kind of silicone or something on the tabs of the cap, making the cap less likely to fall out (due to a good pothole or something).

I guess all I need to do now is figure out if I want to put some kind of sticker on that center cap, leave it blank, or maybe just replace the lugs with black versions and call it good.

Is that cap in the HUB or in the WHEEL? If you take off the wheel does the cap in up staying in the hub?

What's it grabbing onto in order to stay in the hub/wheel?

The cap fits perfectly within the center hole of the wheel. The fours tabs of each plastic cap go into the center bore of the hub and just use friction / spring tension to stay in place.

You're awesome, thanks!!!
Now if I ever get my GT I think I'll have to do this also.

They 100% will. I spent the day polishing and ceramic coating the car and in the process polished out the wheels and aero inserts. The good news is a polisher with a 3" pad is perfect to get in the spokes and hit the aero covers. I coated the plastic with 2 layers of ceramic but I suspect even then it will end up getting scratched with time. The wheels see a lot of abuse and that plastic is soft.

Shameless plug for my now beautiful and clean car.

Thank you! I have a lot of experience with coatings so it was pretty routine for me. I went carpro uk 3.0 topped with carpro SiC
