Yes, the cap can be installed with the wheel mounted. I just wanted to show what it looked like without the wheel.

The caps have a center area of 45mm.

Updated the center caps by adding 45mm brushed steel inserts. Ten bucks, simple peel and stick install.

All total, about $25 for this mod.

I feel the same way. I hated them in pics and thought for sure I might replace them or at the very least remove the covers but now I kind of like them. I just wonder if they weee all black or a nice matte black if I would like them better.

The Mach-e is HEAVY (~5000 lbs), hence the 14mm stud instead of a more typical (for this size vehicle) 12mm.

My Navigator L (6000 lb curb weight) has 14mm studs and also has a 150 lb/ft torque spec.

Great stuff & saved me a saturday cursing at myself. I think that while I hated the look of the original aeros before I even got the car - I don't see enough of an improvement taking off the covers, even if the center cap issue was addressed. Another owner cut his covers down, which takes more talent than I posess to make it look OEM. Just showing us the pix of the covers off is enough to answer the question many GT owners have thought. I'm keeping mine on. Thank you!!

It's probably been mentioned, but do the GT wheels have special lug nuts which help retain the aero cover?

Changed my mind and took off the aero covers, looks better for my opinion. Suggested caps fit good, but still I have concerns they fall off someday, even I put them on clear silicone. Maybe @AOSK can produce good caps.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post. I’m getting a Mach-e GT delivered and wanted to remove the aero covers. What are the size of the center caps? I saw 64mm but confirming this is correct. The original links have the caps no longer available.

I also was about to resurrect this thread as well but Mehsdomi beat me to it. I had an idea of blacking out the raised machined circles of the GT wheels. I was thinking of just using some gloss black vinyl wrap on them but wanted to see what you thought. This is just a rough photoshop concept using a pic of the OP's Mach-e which just happens to look like mine as well.

Wasn't sure how I felt about leaving the outer part as is or if I should black those out as well.

I thought of maybe darkening the peddles instead of making them black, but that was a while ago before they really grew on me. I am interested to see what you end up doing in real life, though.

As for the photoshopped picture, I am not sure either. That looks very interesting, and also unusual. Unusual usually means most people won't like them. I can see my wife asking me why I did it, and saying she doesn't like it.
