Those Chinese vehicles apparently run on the exact same 820a chip that’s in our cars, and the 8155 offers full binary compatibility. This makes sense because it’s a faster, upgraded version of the same architecture.

Given that there’s apparently no hardware upgrade required to support 1.2, I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t percolate down to ‘21 and ‘22 cars. It includes so many safety enhancements that I can’t believe that Ford would want the liability headache if someone had an accident that they argued...
