Not sure what all they have to do to prep the car for purchase, but I'm hoping I can pick it up either tomorrow or Saturday.
Some folks have been able to track their car delivery so closely that they have looked it over after delivery but before 'preparation.' The car arrives at the dealer pretty dirty inside and out, so the dealer (at least my dealer did) has the car fully washed and detailed inside and out. My GT was spotless when I picked it up. On top of the cleanliness, the dealer should also complete all module updates since production; I pressed my dealer to update everything.

Mine just arrived at the Kansas city Argentine ramp yesterday. At the same time, I got an email from Ford that my delivery is delayed by a month. Estimated - 04/21 (Previous ETA - 03/30).

At this point, I have a Purchase agreement signed by the store manager, so I don’t expect anything but a straight deal. They’ve confirmed I can use Ford options w/ the promotions so as long as they are willing to honor that, I have no issue at all.

Realistically, I’d expect them to take the plastic off, wash the car, maybe charge it.

Mine arrived in KC 1/28. First delivery date (2/4) pushed back to 3/6. Talked to the dealer Friday, and they confirmed the car was still sitting in KC. Then got message from Ford yesterday that delivery is pushed back to 3/26. When I checked the Ford site today (which is a daily OCD ritual), to my surprise, it said the car is 'Delivered". Called the dealer, and they confirmed it was just delivered this morning and we can pick it up tomorrow :)

Now I need to go back and review all the threads on making sure we get the original price from 7/10/2021 when we ordered.

Happy to hear! I'm also a 7/10 order, and was moved from 2/26 delivery to 5/27. I'm somewhat optimistic that all of use who were pushed back by 3 month will get it sooner.....

Fingers crossed for you. Despite all the various options available for customers to attempt to track their order, it is a murky situation. As of last Friday, my dealer said the VVR showed my car still in KC, then yesterday we got the email from Ford about a further shipping delay. Then, suddenly it shows up at the dealer this morning. I think they were as surprised as I was.

So I went in today to chat with the dealer prior to purchase tomorrow after they finish their prep. I asked again about price protection for orders placed last year (in my case 7/10/2021) but delayed until this year. The sales guy said the only time this happens is if Ford reimburses the dealer upfront, which he said hasn't happened for the MME. He said it had been something done in the past for Broncos (Broncae?), but not for MME. He said the only price relief was the $750 price credit Ford sent when they switched to MY2022 in September. He also made a trade-in offer on my Prius which was about $4k less than the one I already had from KBB. I showed him the offer and he just ignored it.

I have appointments tomorrow with the two other dealers interested in the Prius and offering $19k, so will take care of that before picking up our new 2022 Premium, ER, Grabber Blue beauty.

After I got home I sent the sales guy a text and attached this document which seems pretty clear about protecting orders placed prior to 12/8/2021 from the December price increase. So we'll see. I'm taking the car home tomorrow either way ?

That sales person (so you need to check directly with the GM) is wrong wrong wrong about not granting price protection on your MME.

He kept asking me to wait, while he went to check with his manager, but kept coming back with the same story. He hasn't responded to the text I sent which had the price protection info attached, so who knows.

This letter says "Vehicles will not be re-invoiced". I believe a vehicle is not invoiced to the dealer until it is actually shipped or delivered to the dealer?

All this means is that any 2022 vehicles produced prior to the price increase date will not be re-invoiced to the higher price. Since 2022 vehicles didn't start production until 1/3/2022 it's a moot point.

Here's something I found from another forum and posted earlier in this chat. It took a little work, but my dealer confirmed they will receive reimbursement from Ford and will charge me last year's sticker price ($2k less than this year). The dealer can find the information on their extranet (FMCDealer) and can call the VOPC to confirm.

From the other forum....

Have the dealer contact the VOPC (Vehicle order processing center) they can confirm it. The dealer can also search "Price Protection" in the "Dealers Ask Ford" section with their dealer extranet (FMCDealer).

FYI the link to Dealers Ask Ford is at the very bottom of the FMCDealer pages if someone can't find it.

Sales Price Protection
Summary: Provides details of errors with automatic payment after the 45 day period.

Overview
Price protection guarantees the original price level, as long as it is reported sold to the original customer. Price protection covers the base price of the unit and will automatically be paid approximately 45 days after the unit is reported sold to the same customer for whom the unit was ordered.

Mismatched Names and Non-Payment
In the event that the price protection program does not automatically pay the dealership after the 45-day period, the Vehicle Order Processing Center can research the concern. Non-payment may be due to several reasons, including:
  • Vehicle ordered in the business name but sold to the business owner (or vice versa)
  • Vehicle ordered in wife’s name but reported sold in the husband’s name (or vice versa)
When a name mismatch occurs, please contact the Vehicle Order Processing Center to review. Be prepared to provide proper documentation for the order to prove the relationship between the name and sold-to-name. Acceptable documents can include:
  • Business card
  • Business license
  • Tax information / license
  • Copies of the sold-to-name driver’s license MUST reflect the same address as the ordering name. It must prove that both ordering name and sold- to-name reside in the same household.

Oh if there is even the tiniest, most ridiculous loophole, I'm sure they will use it. No matter, that MME is coming home to mama tomorrow.
