I'll be doing some tailgating this weekend and had a question about the 12V battery. I presume if I run the stereo and other things off of the accessory plug in the trunk that these items are running off the 12V battery. So, my question is: Does the 12V battery get recharged during tailgating from the car's main batteries if the car is turned on? IOW, how do I avoid depleting the 12V battery?

The owners manual does not address this specifically, but this is mentioned in the "Power outlet" section:

When you switch the vehicle on, you can
use the socket to power 12 V appliances
with a maximum current rating of 20 A.

...

To prevent the battery from running out of
charge:
• Do not use the power point longer than
necessary when the vehicle is off.
• Do not leave devices plugged in
overnight or when you park your vehicle
for extended periods.
This implies that the LVB is not charged while in accessory mode.
Why not leave the car "running"? Just switch off the climate control system and you should be good to go.

Yeah just leave the car on, maybe engage the e-brake just to be safe.
