I use it for the radar detector (Valentine-1 + separate display console) and in-the-mirror dash camera, all thru the power extender.

Does your dash am turn off when the car turns off? I just installed my dash am and it doesn’t turn off when the car turns off like in my past vehicle

I hope you mean dash cam... I think (and I will double check now) that it turns off when the car is turned off and then the door is opened, same as radio and other power stuff.

Actually, I was wrong - even after the door is open and all electrical equipment is off, the outlet remains powered. Dash cam somehow knows not to record at that time (lower voltage?) and turns on again when the car is started.

The 12V port will shut off about 10-30 minutes after exiting the car. They are on a delay.

I once had a car—-Porsche or Audi, I can’t remember, that I plugged in a battery maintainer in the lighter socket. Wish I could do that with the Mach E. All I had to do was buy a converter.

Curious to hear what you folks are planning on using the plethora of 12v power outlets in your MMEs for? Typically I've used them in past vehicles for USB adapters for charging phones, but seems like there are plenty of those already in the MME.

And really not sure what the one in the cargo area is intended for, especially given that it only supports a maximum of 20A.
I just wish there was one in the frunk.

you've got 160amps of 12v as soon as you cut two holes in the drivers side cover to expose the 12v connection points.

but yes, would have been nice if that were accessible from the factory.....
