My bad... Yea was thrown off by the manual which included the USB ports in the list.Right, so only two 12v outlets. I'm not saying we need more, just that there isn't a plethora of them.
Is there a way to keep the 12V outlet in the trunk/boot on when the car is off? Would like to use a portable fridge running overnight when camping...and keep all/as many as possible of the other systems off at the same time.My bad... Thanks all for the great suggestions!
If you can carry a fridge.... I'd leave the mission-critical 12V in the frunk alone and bring a robust 12V instead. Longer use from a bigger battery. Is there a way to keep the 12V outlet in the trunk/boot on when the car is off? Eh, how fast does a vehicle’s ability to charge a phone need to be though? I suppose faster is better, but I think it’s a reasonable tradeoff to put more of that money towards say more ports/newer ports like USB C.One small disappointment for me is the lack of high-speed USB for charging the phone. I think all of the USB (and wireless) charging is slow. Somewhere I have a USB adapter that plugs into the 12V socket, which should be faster. Obviously not as elegant as the Qi charger, but a good tradeoff if needed.
How fast it needs to be is something that's hard to quantify, but yes - the faster, the better. Often it doesn't matter, but if I'm in the car for half an hour and my phone's almost out of juice, that extra charge is a lifesaver. I don't think it's a question of money. I think the Qi standard is slower and they made the decision to go with that because of the obvious convenience.Eh, how fast does a vehicle’s ability to charge a phone need to be though? The 12V is actually also available in the Ford API. My. Smarthome will alert me if it drops below 13V.So far, I'm just using the front one for a cheap cig plug voltmeter so I can monitor the 12V battery charge, since some have had issues. A little extra piece of mind.
For my phone the usb-c outlet in the front charges much faster than the usb-a outlet. Phone even says it's rapid charging when on the C.One small disappointment for me is the lack of high-speed USB for charging the phone. I think all of the USB (and wireless) charging is slow. Thanks, that's good to know. I've got an iPhone but have never gotten a USB-C to Lightning cable - I'll have to give that a try.For my phone the usb-c outlet in the front charges much faster than the usb-a outlet. Phone even says it's rapid charging when on the C.
Nope.So from what I am reading, it seems as if the USB-C port charges at the same rate as the USB-A port? Poo. ?
