If you plan on using much of an inverter, be sure to hard wire it to the battery. I have a good sized inverter in my truck and in a power outage I can run my TV, amp, and satellite dish off it. I have to keep the truck running at a high idle though.

Right, so only two 12v outlets. I'm not saying we need more, just that there isn't a plethora of them.
My bad... Yea was thrown off by the manual which included the USB ports in the list.

Is there a way to keep the 12V outlet in the trunk/boot on when the car is off? Would like to use a portable fridge running overnight when camping...and keep all/as many as possible of the other systems off at the same time.

If you can carry a fridge.... I'd leave the mission-critical 12V in the frunk alone and bring a robust 12V instead. Longer use from a bigger battery.

Tapped off the 12v console power, put an inline 5a fuse / hard cut switch to a cheap LED kit off amazon, under $14.

Able to contrast the built in accent lighting or build on it easy. Tried a USB-C hub to wire other things, but it detected the hub, said to disconnect it.

After carefully measuring power draw from various pieces of equipment to not blow a fuse, I've spread equipment across both outlets with an inverter on each to power a wireless microphone and FM transmitter setup, including mixer and laptop and more. Essentially ran an FM-transmitted concert off the car.

4A total is a decent amount of power for electronics.

Obviously a V2L adapter like the Ioniq would still be way better :)

One small disappointment for me is the lack of high-speed USB for charging the phone. I think all of the USB (and wireless) charging is slow. Somewhere I have a USB adapter that plugs into the 12V socket, which should be faster. Obviously not as elegant as the Qi charger, but a good tradeoff if needed.

Eh, how fast does a vehicle’s ability to charge a phone need to be though? I suppose faster is better, but I think it’s a reasonable tradeoff to put more of that money towards say more ports/newer ports like USB C.

How fast it needs to be is something that's hard to quantify, but yes - the faster, the better. Often it doesn't matter, but if I'm in the car for half an hour and my phone's almost out of juice, that extra charge is a lifesaver. I don't think it's a question of money. I think the Qi standard is slower and they made the decision to go with that because of the obvious convenience.

I haven't had a car without the fast USB charging, and charging the phone with the Qi charging is just glacial. It's a minor thing, but it's nice to have the option of plugging into the 12V if needed.

So from what I am reading, it seems as if the USB-C port charges at the same rate as the USB-A port? Poo. ?

So far, I'm just using the front one for a cheap cig plug voltmeter so I can monitor the 12V battery charge, since some have had issues. A little extra piece of mind.
The 12V is actually also available in the Ford API. My. Smarthome will alert me if it drops below 13V.
Just a side note!

For my phone the usb-c outlet in the front charges much faster than the usb-a outlet. Phone even says it's rapid charging when on the C.

Thanks, that's good to know. I've got an iPhone but have never gotten a USB-C to Lightning cable - I'll have to give that a try.
