I’d check the prices at the ford dealer in Huntley, IL and use it as basis to negotiate. Some of their cars are lemons, but not all. They seem to have the lowest prices based on what some members here reported. For example, they have a 21 premium for $32k.

They seem to have some pretty solid prices there. Looked like a few AWD Premium with ER for just under 30k, and within distance to work with them.

I was looking at new, but even a good deal on Premium AWD ER is probably 50k, so that's a worthwhile discount for used.

What are the main things to look out for when buying used? I assume some sort of battery check is probably more important than raw miles. And the HVBJB status.

Also makes me think about waiting for a used market a bit longer and see if they go below 25k to get the federal incentive For used vehicles.

In addition to what you stated, and normal car checks, I’d grab the vin and ask one of the helpful members here to tell you how many modules have not been updated (or negotiable that with the dealer). There are plenty to lemons out there, so be careful.

Used tax credit requires it be 2 model years old.

Wouldn't the 2021 be two model years old, and soon the 2022's would be once the 2024's start coming out?

Makes sense. The left coast tends to have more disposable income for cars and things than the rest of the country.
That's because it's our second home. We spend 3 hours in traffic everyday.

Your understanding is not correct.

2 model years old. A 2021 is 2 model years old in calendar year 2023.

Must be $25,000 or less. Must have been purchased from a car dealer, not a private seller.

Just want to point out the trade in quotes does not equal to sales price. You should search around your area to see the current sales price. Dealers lowball on MME trade in right now because they have no confidence in the car being able to sell. So they want to play it real safe. Worst case is probably send it to auction. If I am buying used MME now, I would look for a GT. Not much more than the premium.

I think I decided I want the LFP battery pack. So I guess that means 2023 premium 72KW with AWD or RWD.
Of course the RWD should be a little cheaper. In stock RWD cars seem more scarce than AWD.
We drive almost all in town and will have at home charging.
We don't get much snow/ice and it doesn't usually last long.
But which has more value to you more range with RWD or handling/acceleration with AWD?

I think you answered your own question.

You can use the acceleration every day.

You will rarely need the extra range.
And even then, it takes a very long trip or a shorter trip at a specific distance to increase the number of charging stops from a rwd vs AWD.

Got my new Mach-e today. Premium w/72KW std range AWD.
Color Red, are there other colors? :)
Drove it home , oh my gosh what a car.
They didn't have a charger so I got to go back for that.
I'm a Christian so I read my daily scripture this morning before going to get my mustang.
The verse for today was "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."

Got some reading to do to get up to speed on all the controls but so far seems intuitive.

Cheers
