After I couldn't get my home to appear again as a charging location in FordPass, I decided to go into the car and use the screen menu. Using the in-car screen menu, I was able to designate my home as a charging location and set up all the charging times. Now all this info also appears in FordPass.

It would have been easier if the software update had just left my previous settings intact. But I'm glad I was able to solve the problem.

And then yesterday, I got a notification about software update 2.7.3. I did the update, and this time there was no deleting of my home as a charging location.

I received 2.7.2 last night and I also lost all my settings and accidentally charged to 100% as the update removed my charge limit.

I use 1-pedal drive so I use the brakes very infrequently, but I was interested to see the changes to the brake pedal that people are complaining about. I tried the brakes today and thought they felt good, but that was in casual commuting, not anything sporty.

I will set up all my settings again once I get home tonight.

It came back for me. 1.7.2 seem to of wipe out a lot of the profile tranfering settings like that. After a sync reboot and about 24 hours it was completely back to normal.

1.7.2 ford did put a warning in the notes that tere would be some error messages and from that it looks like several other things were a little glitchy. Drive the car for a little bit and it should come back.

I forgot to mention that I also got some warning messages about reverse brake assist and cruise control being unavailable but after I dismissed them, the car was operating normally without issue. It must have been a delayed error as part of the process of updating.

It didn't come back on its own, but the last update to 2.8.1 fixed radio presets, but it didn't fix the charging schedule, which I had to enter manually.

Yeah those errors were listed before the update as things that could be possible. They said while the errors were valid they would clear on their own in 5 mins and not reappear. My guess was something got updated and it caused the car to clear some calibrations so it caused some errors until it finished re calibrating itself.

One weird thing that happened after 2.7.1 is the change in charging. The car is very quiet while charging now (the buzzing sound is gone), but the meter tells me the charging current dropped by about 7%, which means the charging time got correspondingly longer.

Mine started charging to 100% and I haven't been able to change it. The settings in the car say 90% and on the app I can move the slider back to 90% but the save button is greyed out, so it is still charging to 100% after several charging sessions.

My drive mode keeps cutting out and my otherwise reliable Paak has reverted to it's original form that came with the car...
Same here, 17 month old First Edition. All the sudden today the car said Drive mode not available. Tried all three modes, none of them were lit up. But the car was driving in some mode.

Could be worse I guess, I READ "Tesla Model Y caught on fire while driving; driver claimed to have to break window to get out! " in Vancouver.

I guess my modes disappearing is minor in comparison.

I got 2.7.2 yesterday, holy cow, this is the first update that has caused me grief.

ALL, and I mean ALL of my settings have been completely erased, PAAK, bluetooth, radio, charging schedules....

Ive got most of them back to where I think I had them... BUT, how do I tell the car to charge at full speed? Ive got a Chargepoint, its been charging at 9.5KWH for the last year, I plugged the car in this morning at 8 and its been pulling a steady 4KW since. I last charged Sunday at normal speed.

Anyone have any help for that? once ive drained the car back below 90 (how i discovered it was charging slow and over 90%) I can try with another charger I guess?

Sigh.

I actually came here today to report that the issue resolved itself after 2 charges, suddenly its pulling its normal amount.

I do notice a couple of changes that are more neutral in nature:

1. When I remote start the car it ramps the fan up to like 80-100% outside, doesnt seem to be a rhyme or reason, ive done this when its 50 out and 90 out and both situations run the fan at much louder than ICE engine noise level. It doenst calm down til I get in and press the power button, then it seems to return to fan speed based on outside temperature.

Example: This last week I remote started my car in the garage, it was 55 in the garage, i could hear it 2 levels up (not normal). Took my kiddo to daycare, ran by kroger on on the way home, coming out of kroger i remote started, I could hear it from the door, and the car was about 80-100 yards away. Honestly this seems like someone changed a line of code for the remote start to not check outside temp.

2. When lane markers are unavailable for an extended (more than 5 minutes) time intelligent cruise control sends an error and says its unavailable, the only way to get it back is to go into settings and turn it back on. I can replicate this by idling the car in a driveway. super minor annoyance, and probably fixed in next software update.

Got 2.7.2, I think last night. That screwed up a number of things. ?
It apparently erased all user settings. I lost all my radio presets, charging schedule. I noticed the car was charging 10% slower since that. The worst surprise was in the morning, as the update turned off 1PD. So when backing up in the garage in the morning the car unexpectedly sprinted back as soon as I released the breaks. Taking into account that I have just a couple of inches clearance in my garage, that was a bit scary, fortunately I tapped the break pedal quickly.
What kind of software engineers does Ford employ that they can't get even simple things right? When I worked for Bloomberg many years ago, one would be fired for screwing up a customer's database.
Hi there! This doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having with your Mach-E. Please go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information. I’d be happy to look into these update concerns for you. Thank you!
