I'm in Canada trying to buy and the dealer is trying to get rid of a 2022 GT with discounts. I have couple of questions:

1) Supposedly in Canada all GT's are PE's. How can I be sure? Magnaride is listed on the spec sheet, how can I be sure this vehicle is a PE, can I tell from the dash ? Can I see the magnaride by looking underneath? Can I tell from the VIN?

2) What do you think of 2022 vs 2023? Obviously there'll be a small hit on resale price someday for the 2022 vs a 2023 model year. Any other "gotchas" for the 2022s? Wasn't there a chip shortage that affected 2022s and not 2023s? What about the HVBJB, is it the same in 2022 GT vs 2023 Premium?

Unfortunately the GT isn't eligible for the Canadian government $5k subsidy, so even with fairly aggressive discounts from the dealer it's still $11k CAD more expensive than a 2023 Premium eAWD Extended (with winter tires and rims included for both). I'm sure I'd enjoy the fast acceleration and power of the GT, but the associated range hit could be annoying now and again. Magnaride sure sounds nice though, I might be willing to pay extra for it.

Also, the GT is the nice ice blue colour :)

You can tell for sure by reading the window sticker. That will list everything it has.

The key differences besides magneride are different seats (wrap around shoulder support), greater torque (if I recall correctly) 628 vs 600 ft lbs, and those beautiful GTPE wheels.

As as for 22 vs 23, it depends on when in the respective years each was built. But the 22 may have more features than the 23. My 2022 non-PE GT was built with kick to open lift gate hardware and full park assist functionality, both of which aren’t available on the majority of 2022’s and no 2023 AFAIK.

The GTs have a different HVBJB than the Premiums. But as long as the 2022 was built after May 25, 2022 it should have the current version appropriate for that model.

But as Lee says, the window sticker should have the details (except with HVBJB is installed)…

Save your window stickers. It was the ONLY thing that told me what was on my car. The 450-page manual was about half totally irrelevant to my needs. A 50-page custom online and paper booklet for each individual vehicle would really be helpful. I believe Amazon's printing service could provide the paper version.

Thanks. With the vin can I look up the hvbjb status?
You don't need to. All you need is the build date, which is on the label in the driver's door frame on the car.

You can test for Magneride by simply changing the drive mode to Whisper (should ride sort of soft), then to Unbridled (should be stiffer riding). If the window sticker matches the car’s VIN it will tell you what is in the car. Magneride is the biggest tell-tale, but the cross-laced wheels, bigger front rotors, and seats are also all dead giveaways. ??

I've resorted to the seats. If it's got orange piping it's a GT, no piping and the seats look like a fighter jet, it's a GTPE.

FYI make sure you get the 360 cam. If you put it in rev and it says "front camera not available" (which is a stupid error as they should know if it's just not there and not say that) it's not there. Parking these is a lot easier if you can at least see the curb and lines.
