I got my 2022 California route 1 in November 2022. By far the worst car with the suspension. (I love the car over all. This is the only complaint I have after 32K drive) But on the positive side, this is the best car to drop kidney stones ?
Is it worse because of the bounciness or the firmness? I'm just curious to see what suspension you would have (old 22 or late 22)?

I feel everything on the road. It is bouncy and firm.
I suppose I have the old ones. Because I can’t imagine worse suspension than what I have .

Just out of curiosity, how can it be both bouncy and firm?

You are right. I should have said it is firm. When I go over any bump I myself bounce in the car ?

I own a 2022 Premium AWD with extended range battery that is in the shop and it has around 12k miles on the odometer. The loaner that they gave me is a 2024 Select AWD with extended range battery as well with 1,300 miles. When driving it down the Freeway, the 2024 seems to have a much better ride with limited to no bounce in comparison to my 2022. Seems like I am driving a totally different brand of car?

To my knowledge, the Select MME does not come with MagneRide but that was the first thing I checked after driving it to see if that is what made the ride much better. Did they improve the suspension that much on a 24 in comparison to a 22?

Anyone else experience this?
As an owner of '21 MME Premium I like everything about my car except the stiff suspension. I am considering swapping tires from the Michelin OEMs to something more comfortable and quieter. Since I only have 12K miles on the car this is a bit extreme, but it would be worth it to me since I live in Houston where we have poor road maintenance and local driving can be quite uncomfortable. The Pirelli Scorpion P Zero AS Plus 3 look like they may be worth a try. Anyone else consider a tire swap for more comfort?

I have heard the 2025 have replaced the late 22-24.

I would guess that if a person were to do this, you would be better to get the 25 shocks and springs?

I am assuming that it would swap out the same?
If you can yes. But shocks/struts/spings/labor you’re looking at ~ $2000.

one thing to note is snappy double bounces are usually the tire psi being between 35 to 37 psi. From what I’ve tested under 38 the suspension isn’t doing much and is actually bouncing on the tires. Under 35 it’s almost all tire suspension, until something big. But you run the risk of bending the wheels on pot holes. Over 42 and you usually feel every crack in the road.

I took my 22 CRT1 yesterday for a 30K service and mentioned about the bouncy ride. They checked and told me rear shocks didn’t have travel and told me they will replace them under warranty. Hopefully this will improve the ride quality. PS- they also suggested brake flush is that necessary?

Are you saying that 38 to 42 psi (cold) is best? I.e., close to mfr specification?

Curious how the 2025 shock/spring combo would compare to the Koni shocks upgrade many of us did?

Thanks for the post!! I am going to call them tomorrow to check it out to see if mine can be switched under warranty?

All I know is that my car and the loaner are two different "cats".

It would make sense that if they replaced the later 22's with different shocks, the older ones may not have been durable enough with the weight of the battery and they are failing prematurely?

It is worth a try. It is hard for me to remember exactly how it rode when it was new but when things start to wear out over time, one typically doesn't know how bad it is until they get that item fixed.

You would have thought the "engineering aspect" of the weight in an EV would have been figured out well before the 22's came out? This is so frustrating................:curse:

Didn't have travel? What that?
