Hi Everyone,

I searced and haven't seen this specific issue mentioned so I figured I'd post to see if anyone has any insight. My Mach E received the HVAC update last night and this morning it wouldn't start. I'm able to open the doors and the trunk, however, none of the screens turn on. The lights inside the car turn on. When hitting the brake and the start button, the start button just blinks green. Also the car was plugged in all night and somehow charged past it's normal limit (I limit to 90% and app says it went to 99%). The car won't respond to the remote start through Ford pass. Also I've hooked up a battery jump starter to the 12v and haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong or how to fix this? Any help is definitely appreciated.

Thanks @MachLee and @Snakebitten ! This ended up fixing the issue. Any idea why this happened? Wondering if maybe the update caused the issue.

Btw when I reconnected tye battery the update showed as successful and I had an awd fault warning, a trunk ajar warning (even though it was closed), and a service soon warning. I turned the car off and back on and opened and closed the trunk and everything cleared.

Good morning. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with this concern with your Mach-E.

As an analogy, think of it as a Windows update on your PC and the update required a couple of reboots to complete, but for whatever reason the PC didn't successfully reboot the second time. It just hung and the keyboard was unresponsive.

So you pulled the power chord and put the hardware and software to a complete OFF state.

Once you returned power, the PC successfully booted up and you were able to log into windows. However, since the update wasn't gracefully installed, there's a few errors logged in the event viewer. One more normal reboot (key cycle) clears those and all is well. :)

Welcome to the crazy things that can happen when software is being updated to one of 30-40 modules that all are supposed to perform in harmony with each other simultaneously.

Thanks! Makes sense. This is along the lines of what I suspected. I actually explained it to my wife as turning off the power supply of a computer lol.

It's literally the same thing, in my opinion.
Except my Mach-E and Powerboost are rolling computer networks with 30-40 nodes on the network. Except unlike a corporate network, all nodes are mission critical and are participating in a single work flow.........transporting an occupant down the road. :)

Granularly speaking, you could reboot just the misbehaving module, if you use a pc (how ironic? ?) with Forscan. But disconnecting the 12V power source is sometimes just faster.

Three engineers are riding in a car.
One is a mechanical engineer, one is an electrical engineer, and one is a computer engineer.
The car breaks down and coasts to the side of the road.
"Hang on," says the mechanical engineer. "The problem is probably the engine, let me have a look at it and I'll have us on the road again in no time."
"Wait," says the electrical engineer. "The way it just stopped like that, I think it's the electrical system. Let me have a look and I'll get us going again in a minute or two."
"Hold on," says the computer engineer. "Why don't we all just get out of the car and get in again, and then see if it starts?"
