2023 Ordering?

just ordered, gt + extended range. they claim 18-22 weeks which would be early February but i gotta believe we're looking at march or april given ford's track record?

i have to extend the lease on my M3 but not sure for how long. lease ends in late december.

Last year they didn't start producing 2022MY until mid January. This year it could be October. And since order banks have been closed for four months, there were also likely many more converted orders last year vs this year. If you're getting an order in on day 1 when you still have to access the order site via a backdoor link, you're probably in decent shape. I ordered a 2021 this time last year. It was later converted into a 2022, and I received it at the end of April--35 weeks after the order was placed. Different situation.

Same for me. It was the dealership who let me know I could come in and order not Ford even though I signed up for that notification from Ford.

You live in hope with the February date but your more then likely right March April or even May more likely.

The reality, at least previously, is your priority will depend on your location and your dealer. Dealers are allocated just so many cars. These will get the highest priority and then cars from that dealer will get a lower priority. Some cars that went from 21 to 22 MY took forever (it seems) to be delivered. I am not saying it will work the same this time around but I suspect it will. Otherwise all the cars could end up in California or other highly populated states within none left over for other areas of the country.

yeah i guess to be safe i'll have to extend the M3 for 6 months. actually i think extending it for fewer months might be a lose DMV registration-wise. not sure how all that works.

and add me to the list of people who signed up for notification emails from ford and never got one. it turns out my local dealer had a whole FAQ page about the mach-e where they noted online ordering would begin today. that was much more useful than anything on ford's webpages.

Ah ok. Earlier you had to have the direct link to the order page before they added a link that anyone could find. Point still stands though...you're in right at the start before people that don't follow forums were even thinking about ordering.

Unfortunately in CA if you want your car registered even a single day after the prior year expired, you have to pay the full fee.

You are correct. For myself I ordered a GT last year on November 11. It was built three weeks after production of the 22MY. Only Mach ordered for 22MY in Fairbanks Ak at that time

My 2022 took 29 weeks and 1 day to get to me. If that is the betting line for the 2023, I'm taking the under this time around

Which dealership did you use? I just went and order mine today at Team Ford.

Maybe buy the M3. What's the buyout?maybe make a few bucks on the trade in.
