@Mach-Lee pointed out some interesting things relating to BlueCruise engagement in one of his posts. If I'm remembering this correctly (and I may not be), it can take up to two minutes if BC disengages for it to decide everything is okay now and go back to hands-free.

I use BC on a stretch of I65 all the time, and I have noticed that sometimes if I already had cruise activated from using it on the state highway that leads to I65, but it was just 'paused' while I was maneuvering through town...and then I hit the button to re-engage and change to interstate speed...it would take a lot longer to go back to HF (like 5 miles) than if I shut cruise completely off and then turned it back on. If I shut it off and then turn it back on, I'm almost immediately put into HF mode without delay. It must be a logic thing.

Interesting. I use BC almost daily in my 2022 Premium and it is very smooth, including lane changes. My issue, since the update, is that it takes longer to engage when activated on sections of roadway it used to activate almost instantly.
I've been driving for 50 years without it and at least 90% of my mileage is city so for the few times a year (5 or less) that I might be on a longer highway trip, it's something that I can do just fine without...

Too each their own. Enjoy your car however you like.
