So, I bought my first EV ever, a 2024 Mach-E, the terms of the lease deal (pretty much every incentive thrown at me + discount price) was too good to pass up and they gave like 15% above KBB value on my trade-in, which was in the shop at the same dealer due to complete transmission failure under warranty. I could have bought a 2025, but did not like a couple of the changes they made - such as the differences in the headlight styling which looked more conservative/boring to me in the 2025, and the switch from the cool dial (which my previous Ford also had) to a "stalk" which is IMO clunky and reminds me of a car from the 80s rather than a "high tech" EV. I live in a cold climate so the heat pump prob would have been nice, but then again as a longtime Ford owner, buying something like that the first year sounds like a dangerous proposition
I have to say, I am enjoying it more than expected. The biggest improvement is the lack of cabin noise and vibration in the steering wheel, and instant response. I am curious to see what Ford does at the end of the lease, as I expect the value of the car to have plummeted by then given what is going on with other EVs. I also hope Ford sticks with some EV models despite the rebate going away. I am a bit concerned that by the time the 3yr lease is up, they will have stripped the car of its niceties to drive the price down, but we will see.
Anyhow, this is the most enjoyable time I've had in a car since Ford's 2002 Thunderbird.
