2024 MACH-E
Hey Mach-E Fam,
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a recurring issue I've been having with my 2024 Mach-E Select. I picked it up back in September 2024, and it's been fantastic overall, except for this weird problem that's happened three times now, always after driving through heavy rain.
Here's the rundown:
* Heavy Rain Driving: I drive through a significant downpour.
* Next Morning: I get into the car, and it feels like the parking brake is engaged, even though it's not. It's like the brakes are seized.
* Initial Movement: When I try to move, there's a loud "clunk" sound, followed by a grinding noise. Then when driving it sounds like I have a flat tire.
* Braking: The brakes still function, but there's a noticeable grinding sound when applied.
* Resolution: After driving for a short period (a few minutes), the problem completely disappears, and everything returns to normal.
This has happened three separate times, always after heavy rain. I'm starting to get pretty concerned.
My questions:
* Has anyone else experienced anything similar with their Mach-E, especially after driving in heavy rain?
* How worried should I be about this? It seems like a potentially serious issue.
* Is it safe to continue driving the car, or should I take it to the dealer immediately?
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Totally normal, and not a problem at all. The rear brakes might be stuck to the rotor, and makes a sound when it breaks loose, but it cases no problem other than the sound. If it really is rusted it will make a slight difference in the surface from where the pads was positioned and this will make a noise as it is cleared, but it isnt like a piece of metal, it is just a difference between non-rusted and rusted surface.

These are just noises compared to old style wire based parking brakes that would get stuck and not be able to move at all since there was no motor forcing the pistons back. The electric based brakes will move the piston back regardless, its just the pads that are stuck and as soon as they gets forced unstuck they will move back and work normally

Mine will do this every time after a car wash unless I use the friction brakes to dry them out on the way home.
